Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yeah, it really feels like Endgame painted itself into a corner to justify its plot. Oh, well.
Oh, sure, I get that part. But logically, Kang's master plot is completely futile because there will always be infinite universes that he hasn't conquered.
Exactly, Kang would be in complete control.
Also I think it's more a case of crossing over from an alternate universe.
Maybe that's his big master plan.

Sincerely S Awatching.![]()
Depends if he actually wants to conquer the multiverse if he just enjoys the fight.
Also He Who Remains had managed it when he established the sacred timeline so it can't be as infinite as all that. (though what you say makes a lot of sense logically)

Kang often is a guy who doesn’t want the definitive victory
He comes back to the superhero era because he was bored of ruling an uncontested bad future
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()
From what we know I would assume they will merge that plan and the role God Emperor Doom played in Secret Wars for Kangs part in their next Avengers duology.
With The Kang Dynasty ending in a defeat for the heroes with Battleworld being formed as Kangs empire.

From what I understood for the time travel logic ( If by defention time travel has a logic) is that the present is unaffected by the changing of an event in the past, which itself just creates an alternate universe. Sometimes such events in the past become time loops such as Kamala and Steve (we don't know exactly when he reappeared in the past, most likely when he returned the Tesseract.)
Sincerely S Awatching.I kinda did assume that Steve just used the Quantium Realm technology to return from his new timeline to the sacred one to give Sam the shield.
That would have actually fit with the established rules. And from what Ive heard the writers and directors actually disagree if that or a timeloop is what happened.

Infinity War's choice in time travel mechanics is good for (theoretically) no thought time travel. If the writers can say "every time they go back, it's just another universe" they don't have to put any thought into how it adds up (and can do stuff like - say - have the heroes fight Thanos years earlier without affecting the present).
Still I remember being surprised that they specifically chose it for a story where the protagonists went back in time, vs an individual story where someone comes from another future into the main timeline, and even more surprised that they tried to pull some "this is how time travel always works. No other form of time travel is even physically possible" exposition.
The issue is that both the form they chose and that exposition were really bad for future stories and writers. If you're now going to start having characters time travel a lot, the fact that time travelling actually has no consequences (at least, not to anyone important) whatsoever becomes a problem.
Notably (recent media spoilers), Ms. Marvel just ignores it entirely and has its time travel work completely differently.

Speaking of Peters (hard to tell if you mean Parker or Quill), Kevin Feige says Spider-Man and Daredevil will be the faces of the MCU's street level.
...Which would have me be HYPED AF, but then I realize Marvel still probably has to share Spidey with Sony for what seems to be an indefinite period of time.

But not Kamala Khan? Interesting. Let's hope they don't put her in the attic after The Marvels.
Edit: Oh, hang on. Secret Invasion isn't an Avengers title, it's a Disney+ suspense series. That makes a lot more sense. I was confusing it with Secret Wars, which if you think about is really kind of confusing.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Day 4 of Marvel's SDCC livestream is now up
. I have no idea what's left to reveal today.
Somebody leaked the Quantumania trailer on Twitter, and I watched it out of dire curiosity of what MODOK looks like, but only like half the screen was visible and I couldn't really tell what was what.
That's on me for my impatience I guess.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks Marathon
February. A trailer of sorts was shown at the con yesterday. I don't think it's actually a full trailer trailer yet but just something they put together as a sneak peek.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThere were several "sneak peek" Comic Con exclusives yesterday. I'm probably going to avoid watching them unless they come out on first-party channels. I'm excited for the first Quantumania trailer and I think I've already said how badly I want to see more of The Marvels.
Am I allowed to have a platonic crush on Iman Vellani? The actor is 19 now, so I think it's okay. Brie Larson is a little intimidating, but she seems to have an incredibly generous spirit. I just want that more than anything right now.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

At this point every new version of time travel in the MCU relies on ignoring Endgame. Even Endgame ignored Endgame when the writers claimed Steve’s trip inexplicably did change the past.
