Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I don't know if I'd say "concerning." They want to make sure they don't just haphazardly throw them in "We have these characters now, make them now!" And there's no reason they couldn't slowly introduce those characters in upcoming productions, either. Worked out fine for Black Panther and Spider-Man.

Oh yeah, remember how we have a Gamora variant thanks to Endgame? She's a Ravager now! AND ROCKET STILL HAS HIS BLUE AND RED COSTUME FROM ENDGAME?!?

This is actually potentially a really cool set up for the end of Peter Quill's character development. He's always been a character latching onto the past, and I could see him pining for and trying to win over Gamora in the movie, only to realize its not the same, she's not his Gamora, and let her go. I might be expecting too much of the MCU for that to happen, but could I see Gunn taking a somewhat ballsy route like that? Yeah, I could.

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."The dates of the two Avengers movies make it seem like its going to be set up as a two-parter, a la Infinity War/Endgame.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOnly a 6 month gap between Avengers Movies? Marvel Studios, I know doing things that ain't been done before is kind of the hat you've always worn, but holy shit.
...I should really start catching up on all this stuff though. Other than Spider-Man: No Way Home, I haven't been keeping up with Phase 4 at all. (Other than reading synopsis for stuff)
So that means that we won't have an Avengers film for three years that seems like weird gap to have between the instalments of easily the biggest money making series in the MCU.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadAdmitably the issue with Secret Wars is that Kang might be taking Doom's place as the main antag
As there's really not enough time to properly build up Reed and Doom's epic rivalry that is the culmination of the Hickman Secret Wars story
Prolly be a very distilled version of the story which shame, really wanted to see the ultimate Reed vs Doom slug-fest

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

Lack of FF or X Men is concerning...
