Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Jessica and Frank were the only 2 of the Netflix bunch who had satisfying conclusions to their respective series.
Daredevil would've ended kinda fine, if not for The Stinger, while the endings of Iron Fist and particularly Luke Cage still make me mad to this very day.

Iron Fist Season 2 at least had several steps into the right direction, it was a great improvement, even though it wasn't perfect.
Yeah, Luke Cage Season 2 ended on a massive cliffhanger that was never resolved. It was really annoying.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianTo be clear, the reason Iron Fist and Luke Cage's second season endings make people mad isn't because the endings are bad or controversial, it's because they're really good cliffhangers of seasons yet to come.
Luke Cage's second season ends with him in charge of Harlem's Paradise, the de facto "King of Harlem", and starting to go down a dark path that may end with him becoming just like the gangsters he opposed. Also a secondary character going down her own path toward becoming the villain Nightshade. Iron Fist's ends with a flash-forward to several months later with Colleen Wing now wielding the Iron Fist to protect New York, and Danny and Ward on a road trip in Asia trying to track down a mysterious man named Orson Randall, with Danny wielding chi-powered guns somehow.
Both promised big third seasons, and then those seasons never came because of the cancellations.
Anyway, the shows coming to Disney+ is good. And once again, to anybody who said they'd let Punisher and Iron Fist disappear into the ether, I win, haha-ha-haha!

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! They haven't seen the last of Danny Rand. The Immortal Iron Fist. Sworn Protector of Kung Lao, and enemy of The Hand.

Just Makima.K'un-Lun. Kung Lao is from Mortal Kombat (and given his hat is a fucking buzzsaw, I don't imagine he needs protection).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I haven't watched IF but I wouldn't mind averting the ending there so Danny actually gets his powers back.
The benefits of a soft reboot, he can molded into a better character especially since he no longer has to be tied down by the Netflix grittiness.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I've seen people speculate he might be part of Shang-Chi 2.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonShang-Chi could definitely use IF's fellow Immortal Weapons if the franchise is going to stick to this more Wuxia take on the character.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."

Jessica Jones I'd argue needed its r-rating for its central theme of rape, but I also see no real need to continue with JJ. She doesn't exactly have a wealth of stories to draw from, which is one of the reasons the show really spun off its axis past season 1 (a similar predicament befalling her in the comics).
Daredevil might actually work as a PG-14 alright, even if that would feel like a downgrade.
