Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

If anything I'd love an Inhumans joke in Deadpool 3 with the actual cast hopefully, sort of like the X-men joke in Deadpool 2.

Yeah, I know his movies aren't exactly something one takes super seriously, but Ryan Reynolds being put into a big new playground to go nuts is pretty huge.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."The movie will be about Wade trying to get someone to pay for a job he was hired for before the universes merged who now doesn't know what Wade is talking about.
Forever liveblogging the Avengers It could be Deadpool vs Hit-Monkey.
More seriously, the Deadpool movies haven't done T-Ray yet, and iirc he's a pretty prominent antagonist for Wade (plus he's an immediate in to do Marvel Studios' favorite schtick of Evil Counterpart villains).
On the other hand, I'd love to see them adapt a story from Cable & Deadpool.
I could totally see the "If Looks Could Kill" arc (the one where Cable and Deadpool are Working the Same Case, against a group of crazy geneticists who are trying to turn everyone in the world blue) as a parody superhero-spy thriller, kind of like a pastiche of something like Winter Soldier. Then they could pepper it with a bunch of jokes about the shift in continuities and so on, change Cable's status quo, etc.
Really, a lot of Deadpool arcs could be adapted pretty well as parody superhero-spy movies. Of all the Marvel characters, Deadpool maybe works the best in doing a James Bond style thing where each new movie is a largely new romp rather than necessarily building on top of one another.
I'd like to see Deadpool adapt some of Gail Simone's run on the character with the Wicked Cultured psychic assassin Black Swan.
I've also long been a proponent of using Deadpdool to introduce Mojo to the MCU, although the characters have rarely (if ever) interacted in canon, but Mojo is so cosmically absurd a concept that I think this is his best chance and they provide a natural match (as the Fourth-Wall Observer types on opposite moral sides).

I think it's safe to say that with this move, Hulu's approaching the end of its life. Once the existing contracts expire (particularly Comcast's minority stake in the company, which they are officially set to sell to Disney a few years from now, thus granting the Mouse 100% ownership of Hulu), I expect all of the original programming to be moved over to Disney+ (much like how the rest of the world has the "STAR" section for stuff that's on Hulu over here, like Family Guy, Solar Opposites, and The Handmaid's Tale), and Hulu itself would only be kept around as a cable-cutting service to get online live TV and/or a name for the not-kid-friendly section of D+, at most.

"Cynic, n. — A blackguard whose faulty vision sees things as they are, not as they ought to be." - The Devil's DictionaryGenuinely surprised, but another case of "never say never". It never made any sense why the US version couldn't add parental controls at any point prior, so I'm glad they're updating it now.
I wonder if this will allow for even more leeway on the type of content Marvel Studios can produce for the platform now?
Wonder if this means the Deadpool movies and Logan might also move to Disney+?

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThose had f-bombs and nudity. It's stupid, I know, but there's plausible deniability with Jessica Jones and Daredevil, which probably could've gotten a tv-14 with the extra supplemental ratings if they lobbied for it. I've seen gorier stuff on Bones. I learned a couple of years ago the rating you get is partially driven by what a creator asks for.

Certainly the scenes were more risque than Iron Man, but I could see a TV-14 show airing similar scenes on network television.
