Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Its pretty noticeable in Miles Morales since the Roxxon guy has literally nothing memorable about him at all.
I know he's simply just to facilitate the origin for the actual primary antagonist Tinkerer but still it doesn't change the fact that every time he's onscreen you want to die because he's so miserably uninteresting.
Granted they did waste their Troy Baker casting token on him so thats something decent at least.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Agger's cool, but he's hardly the be-all end-all of Roxxon. Roxxon's been around since the 70's. Agger was created in 2014. He's a blip on the overall history of the corporation.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I guess the big question would be if Roxxon has to survive to be Roxxcart in 2050, as we've seen in Loki.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Note: He is cool. He embodies the WTFy nature of the Marvel Universe. The CEO of a major energy corporation is a minotaur because sure, why not? Everybody and their dog is an alien/mutant hybrid, or a time-traveling hyper-intelligent super-monkey, or has sold their soul to Spider-Man for a hot dog and a webshooter. That's the kind of world we live in.
I'm not sure the MCU is sufficiently zany enough for a Fuck You, That's Why like that though.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Since we're talking about Roxxon as a potential She-Hulk foe, I'm reminded that one of She-Hulk's earliest issues (back when it was The Savage She-Hulk) had Jennifer Walters defending Roxxon.
A lot of their oil had been disappearing, and everyone was convinced that they were secretly hoarding it away as a plan to manipulate the market and drive up prices. But turns out, no, a supervillain was stealing it, and just this once, Roxxon had to explain "It's Not Me This Time".
Its more I notice that he does provide an interesting enough figurehead for the company.
Roxxon is a pretty utilitarian villain, they can appear in a lot of stuff but for the most part they tend to lack a striking leader compared to how Oscorp is run by the memorable Norman Osborn.
A character like Agger helps it not come across like a total generic evil corporation.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I remember a plot I always thought would be neat for the MCU, especially back when Iron Man movies were still current, is the Sunturion & Stratosfire storyline where Roxxon's attempts at making their own "Iron Man" style public hero to rival Stark Industries ends up creating both a Knight in Sour Armor and an insane Knight Templar.
It could make a neat story for Ironheart or Armor Wars.

Random question: what's the overall opinion on Screen Rant.
My bro watches it a lot for its Marvel theories, and I end up listening to a lot of it as well by default.
Kinda curious if anyone else does, and has listened to their latest stuff for Marvel.
One Strip! One Strip!
I also think I saw Zombie Wanda.
She could still be alive after her encounter with Ultron, though it seems unlikely. Also, any thoughts on my earlier question above?
One Strip! One Strip!

@Gaon -I can see that. The Roxxon we have currently makes me think of a Wulfram and Hart type deal in which they are The Constant and whatever time/multiverse you are in, they are always doing something evil.
And that Wulfram and Hart comparison is on point, because their founder was actually a member of the Secret Empire
, which might be the same thing as the Hydra cult.
But I don't think that's necessarily at odds with them getting a Minotaur CEO in the present who makes them evil in new and innovative ways.
