Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Amusingly I think one of the interviews implied she was into Slash Fic specifically.

I am beginning to suspect that the leak I read is bullshit simply by the nature of all the crazy ass game changing stuff in it, specifically all the non-mcu marvel characters, and I feel like something would've slipped out. The things it got right I'll just chalk up to the law of large numbers (i.e. sometimes somebody has a very lucky guess).

You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midShe says that she's a big fan of the relationship between Steve and Bucky and the "impossible love" they have for each other
, so there's a good chance it's that.
I think I've mentioned it before but the Steve/Bucky pairing is exceptionally popular among the Sinosphere (to the point that Sebastian Stan is still a Weibo/Lofter darling), for reasons I can only partially understand as a more heavily Americanized Chinese. And well, the way Chloe Zhao described it is almost identical to how my mainland friends who are openly into the ship have gushed about it, so you can probably put 1 + 1 together.
Although, mentioning that she had accounts on FFN and LJ suggests it might've been something else, as while Stucky still had some fans in its early years, the ship didn't take off to the extent it did until after 2014 at which point AO 3 supplanted them as the primary fic archive of choice. Unless she does have an AO 3 account too and doesn't want to admit it.

I'll admit I wasn't really as bothered with the tonal whiplash with the Marvel Zombies episode of What If as a lot of others were, though I also think at least part of that was me being familiar with the source material and seeing the whiplash as part of it. Like, the original comics frequently ping-ponged between absurdist Black Comedy and straight-laced horror in a manner not unlike Evil Dead 2, to the point where there's literally a comic crossover where Ash Williams drops in.
To that end the way Sharon died didn't even phase me so this idea of it being a case of covert Ship-to-Ship Combat (Hot Sub-on-Sub Action?
) comes of as the more bizarre.

The funny thing about the Marvel Zombies episode is that it really shows how small the MCU is.
Like ignoring the relatively small amount of heroes used........ there were barely any villains. Zombie Cull, Corvus, Thanos was the only zombie villains and Thanos only appeared in the last second of the episode.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'd it supposed to be the same universe for that new show?
Yeah, the concept isn't much fun with only a handful of heroes.
Lilly said she found it excessive, i don't think she'd be facetious about that.

It's a little confusing, and naturally vague. So the official logline of the series is the following:
But Bryan Andrews further added in a podcast:
The "different lens" part is probably key here. An alternate take on the same universe's events?
That would raise the issue of what exactly the Watchers were doing while he was around, or where they came from. Were they (or he, if it was just Uatu) just chillaxing on his space sofa knowing that all these alternate universes were about to get deleted?
Could have been some Jurisdiction Friction but I guess we'll never know.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Some figures were reveled for Thor:LAT It appears that Jane Foster can manipulate the shards of Mjolnir, allowing her to change it into whatever she wants. I think that's pretty cool, says she can put her own spin on mighty Thor.
Sincerely S Awatching.Oh damn that’s clever cause that’s also from the comics. After she becomes Valkyrie she gains the shattered remnants of Ultimate Mjolnir (the Mjolnir of Thor from the Ultimate Universe) which was then molded down into a golden bracelet that she can manipulate into turning into any weapon she wants.
That is so dope.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Titania being the villain of the She Hulk miniseries is interesting to me, as her and Volcana(great idea for a villain powerset, she needs to make a comeback)'s back story is that they were social outcasts and were recruited by Doctor Doom to become his super powered foot soldiers.
I think it's pretty unlikely that Doctor Doom gets introduced in She//hulk, perhaps an obscure reference alluding to him, but even if they swap Doctor Doom out, Titania would signify that the MCU is reaching the point where normal people are able to buy super powers (without ending up as Deathlok) if they're happy to source it to the morally absent.
So this is interesting. Looks like the directors of Moon Knight have also signed on to direct Loki Season 2
.
Season 2 is going to have a hell of a time writing their way out of that bizarre cliffhanger that season 1 left them on, so bringing in the Moon Knight person makes sense. They already have experience working with a premise that's a total mindfuck, after all.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I really want to see Absorbing Man in a film so we can see him cut loose. His powerset must look amazing with a budget. No he's not been confirmed yet.
I guess they'd have to figure how canon Agents of SHIELD is, unless they don't use Creel's name for a new absorbing man so they could potentially coexist without contradicting each other.
