Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

In terms of success rate, it narrowly edged out the original incarnation.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIf it is him, I just really gotta wonder how Feige managed to convince Patrick Stewart to sign on for this film, given how he seemed pretty definitive that Logan was going to be his last film as Professor X.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersFun fact: Sophie Turner has been dyeing her hair red for the last few months, and everyone thought it was totally going to be for an MOM cameo, and I was satisfied calling these theories delusional. :-(
I feel bad for the younger cast to be honest. It's not really their fault that the movies they were part of (outside of First Class) kind of sucked compared to the pre-Days of Future Past films. And while I'll admit I do prefer the OG X-Men actors compared to the "reboot" timeline, I feel that all the new actors deserved a whole lot better.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."I was just thinking about Wanda. God, from the perspective of an average person living in the MCU, the way the Avengers handle Wanda must make their blood boil. XD
Cuz ok, first Wanda was a villain, and she mind controlled the Hulk into rampaging through a highly populated city. This is the one event involving the avengers (and future Avenger in Wanda's case) that never comes up in Civil war, despite that film supposedly trying to hold the Avengers accountable for their actions, probably because it would look really bad combined with the events of that movie, where Wanda also gets a bunch of Wakandan Ambassadors killed. THEN, she goes off and brainwashes an entire town full of innocent people (a process that is both very terrifying and very painful) all so she can play housewife.
Surely Wanda should be under some kind of lockdown or leash, right? I get that she's probably too powerful, but what does that say? is it really a good thing that the world has to kowtow to wanda just because she's hideously powerful? I'm not saying she should to be treated like shit, but get her some help.

Kaze ni Nare!Between Wanda, Clint Barton, and John Walker, it felt to me like the MCU last year had a recurring issue of “this character did awful crimes but they’re due for sequels so they just say ‘sorry kinda’ then run away without any real recompense to their victims.”
The closest example to an atonement arc is Bucky, who wasn’t even in control of his body during the acts in question.

I only expect him because he's a big part of the comics versions of the team.
