Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

So Anne Hathaway is apparently in talks to appear as some Marvel character or another. The article I read speculated that it might be The Black Cat, though I'd think given Spider-Man's apparent age she reads a bit too old (and honestly, while she's very attractive, she's not really the same kind of attractive as The Black Cat) for that character; plus, it'd be way too close to the last comic-book character she played. My guess is Sue Storm, possibly?

That would probably be a bit of meta-casting a la keaton playing the vulture. I'm not sure how I'd feel about her potentially playing Black Cat. Hollywood has a tendency to pair male actors and female actresses with similar age gaps. I'd definitely be down for Sue Storm.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midYeah, I think Hathaway as another cat-like Anti-Villain in the comic book world is a little too on-the-nose for me. I don't really have any strong feelings about the Fantastic Four yet, but maybe.

I don't think she'd be Elektra, especially since Daredevil was just recanonized.
Probably referring to Felica's most... prominent feature, which would likely be downplayed in live-action, anyway.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI mean, she played Catwoman a decade ago...
Holy crap The Dark Knight Rises is a decade old movie.
And, in any case, while the Insomniac game portrayed Black Cat as slighty older than Peter, and that dynamic may work (say, 18 year old Peter and 23 year old Felicia?), the Dawson Casting gets quite extreme.
A semi-serious Felicia fancast I've seen on Twitter is Zendaya's Euphoria costar Sydney Sweeney, though I suspect half of it is Most Common Superpower/Ms. Fanservice.
Also some recent news from Gunn.
"James Gunn Confirms Guardians 3 Is 'The Last Time People Will See This Team'"
Speaking to Deadline, Gunn revealed the Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3 will be a proper sendoff for him as director as well as the team.
"This is the end for us. This is the last time people will see this team of Guardians... I just want to be true to the characters, and I want to be true to the story and I want to give people the wrap-up that they deserve for the story," Gunn says. "So that is always a little bit scary; I'm doing my best."
On the subject of Secret Invasion, there's some pictures
circulating
of Emilia Clarke shooting scenes with Samuel L. Jackson in Halifax, England.
One does wonder who she's playing considering all the secrecy on hand. Abigail Brand
might be a plausible guess, though Veranke
is another one.

Wright holding back the characters did also lead to the change in Ultron’s creator.
It’s all very interesting to think about.
