Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I actually like Hank Pym as a bitter old hermit. It’s entertaining and sometimes that seems like a best case scenario for his character.
But I agree it’s a shame how side lined Janet Van Dyne has gotten. Both in the movies and the comics.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSo, I guess we can agree the best Wasp was the Earth's Mightiest Heroes incarnation?
I didn't so much fix it, as improve it a little. It was damn near perfect as is.
Just to be clear, yeah, EMH Wasp is the best.
One Strip! One Strip!EMH Wasp is great. She has a simple thesis: being a superhero rocks and punching people is awesome.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAn annoying thought, video-games kinda avoid using them.
Janet at least was in the last Ultimate Alliance but no Ant-Man was playable and of course neither characters were playable in Squeenix's Avengers.
Hank only makes an appearance as a fucking quest-giver/storefront guy and no Wasp makes an appearance with the game once again falling into the trap of having Black Widow be the sole female Avenger.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."We can't really blame it on the movie, since it has been happening even before the Ant-Man films.
Hank was just an NPC in the original Ultimate Alliance game for example.
Going by the rumors, it seems that was the case.

Believe it or not, She-Hulk did that in #28 of Sensational She-Hulk.
Which I guess makes Jen the most powerful hero in the Marvel Universe next to Squirrel Girl.
The Leader once beat Mephisto at his own game by negotiating a favorable contract.
Then Mephisto paid him back by offering the Leader a much worse deal in a situation where he couldn't possibly negotiate a better one since the Leader was being tortured by the Penance Stare and was willing to agree to anything to get away from it.
Don't try to screw over Mephisto unless you're willing to suffer for it.

Disgusted, but not surprised

It is very rare that an actor has any significant creative control over their role. The ones that do are either actors with a reputation for improv and were hired with that as an expectation for them or they have some control of the project in another role, usually as a producer or director.
