Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Jeff Lemire's run, early issues. In the run proper the story zigzags whether the things he's beating up are actually jackals or regular human thugs he's hallucinating as such, which is something I'm expecting to see here too.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I also said this in the Moon Knight thread, but I think it's interesting that Moon Knight is our first new hero to have a cape. Gotta wonder if he'll have a practical reason for having it like Doctor Strange does, or if it's just to make him look cool like Thor and Vision.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."In the comics he occasionally uses it as a glider allá Batman but don't know if they'll keep that up.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."One of MK's enemies is Black Spectre, a guy in a black knight armor, but they're (there have been different guys taking the mantle) completely unrelated to Black Knight and they don't have powers, it's all from tech.
However, considering the changes they're making with Spector's backstory here (he lives in London, and works in a museum, which has never happened in the comics) I wouldn't be surprised if they change Black Spectre to be somewhat related to Black Knight in some way. I doubt it, since the length of the series wouldn't give them too much time to focus on two enemies, but there's a thin connection there if you want to see it that way.
I could see Marvel just doing a tokyo drifft and making Black Knight-Blade-Moon Knight be part of a supernatural avengers-esque team (probably Midnight Suns) and setting that up during a MK post-credit scene or somesuch.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I can definitely see a couple of teams.
For the supernatural-geared one, Blade and Black Knight seem to already be linked and Moon Knight makes sense as well. And presumably Werewolf By Night when he shows up. I also kind of see Shang Chi on the team both because he's kind of supernatural and more so because he fits with the general 70's pulpiness of the others.
Doesn't seem right for the team to be a complete sausage fest. I wonder who else could be on the team. Wanda?
On the other side of things, I believe Moon Knight has a connection to Echo in some comics so I wouldn't be surprised if they team up for a street level "Defenders/ Heroes for Hire" like team. Shang Chi might also make sense for that kind of team.

When I watched Eternals the other day, I somehow completely missed that was supposed to Blade in The Stinger. I was able to pick-up on the Black Knight connection, but I guess I just can't pick up on Mahershala Ali's voice on its own.
×2
Though Defenders aren't usually Street Level heroes.
It seems one of the Strange variants in Mo M will be called Defender Strange too.
Britain literally has Captain Britain whose sister is the X-Men Psylocke and lead a team called MI 13.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Semi-random question. (How) do Daredevil and Echo communicate?
I'm not that familiar with the comics version of Maya, but my impression was that the MCU version of her didn't really speak.
Does Dardevil's Disability Superpower allow him to read lips/see sign language?
Indeed. Technically, Brian Braddock (the original Captain Britain before Psylocke took on the role) was one of the few non mutants to be part of an X-Man team, via the original X-calibur.
And the X-men don't have many non-mutant members (who weren't retconned into it, like say, Pietro was).
One Strip! One Strip! No, not really. Moon Knight is generally pretty alienated from the rest of the heroes. He is more tolerated than say The Punisher, but hardly anyone would call him friend.
Moon Knight is part of the street level heroes, so he has done his fair share of team-ups with Daredevil and the like, but he is definitely not close personally to any of them.
The biggest group of superhero friends he got was during his time in West Coast Avengers, with Hawkeye, Wonder Man, and Tigra (with whom he even started a romantic relationship). He also had a romantic relationship with Echo.
One of the most interesting ones that wasn't explored enough was his friendship with Sentry. They both had mental problems and it's clear they wanted to pull a Superman/Batman parallel with them.

@Tuckerscreator -
That makes sense. I think maybe a better way of phrasing the question is that I wonder if there's any way Dardevil could communicate with Maya that wouldn't reveal that he's blind/that he's Matt Murdock.
I also vaguely could see someone like Moon Knight, Yelena, and/or Shang Chi being a Translator Buddy and there being a line about how they learned ASL so they could communicate on missions without speaking.
