Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

What I'm saying is that the name could be a cover for another character, as is the case with all those that I listed (although agnes had a mountain of foreshadowing). Olivia it's more her gender, but still same basic idea.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midI wonder if our She-Hulk Tatiana Maslany gave Isaac any tips on playing multiple identities.
I definitely think Grant is a Fake Brit.
I'm digging the gritty psychological thriller elements the trailer teases, with the fact we're going to be witnessing this through "Steve's" eyes (although, it is curious they chose Steven for this working man personality rather than the more obvious Jake). This looks to be taking a few cues from the notorioulsly divisive Bemire run (Ethan Hawke is pretty definitely Sun King as far as I'm concerned), but hey maybe they can make use of its best elements.
Hope we get some real Lemire Mind Screw elements.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."We also got the synopsis.
Just a note, there's a Moon Knight thread over in the TV forum now.
Supposedly, Moon Knight was gonna appear back in Iron Fist season 2 as a DID-afflicted mercenary hired to take down Danny Rand, much like how his comic book self debuted in Werewolf By Night, but was replaced with Typhoid Mary during the writing process.
If they continue to bring in actors from the Netflix shows it'd be cool (and extremely confusing
) to see Moon Knight clash with Mary some day.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Typhoid Mary vs Moon Knight is such a natural match-up that I'm surprised the comics haven't used it more often.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Yeah, and there's a big difference between portraying DID realistically for "coolness" and having your character physically transform into a different being when he switches personalities. The former in particular seems to have Unfortunate Implications tacked all over it.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."If Moon Knight ends up appearing in future works, I'm curious as to what other characters he'll get to meet.
From what I understand, Doctor Strange and Daredevil are people he's worked with before in the comics. And given his connection to the supernatural, I wouldn't be surprised if he and Blade hit it off.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."I'd say MK's touch in the subject is more acceptable since he is intended to be a cool and compelling character through viewing it in the styles of superhero theatrics.
He has been a member of the Midnight Sons which includes characters like Blade and Ghost Rider.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'm still worried about the whole idea of making DID connected to superpowers, but I can't deny it looks cool.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Moon Knight's shtick that he has DID and he has superpowers and the two are completely disconnected, except in his own mind because keeping all that straight is very confusing?
Most of the time he doesn't even have superpowers. His superpowers are based on how Khonshu's feeling towards him at the moment.
The exact cause of Marc's mental disorders has ultimately been a depending on the writer sort of thing. Various retcons disagree on when Marc first developed DID, when he first met Khonshu and how those two things are connected.
Yeah, most of the time Moon Knight's a Badass Normal who fights with the skills he honed as a mercenary. The main difference is that he does it while wearing a costume.
Moon Knight's actually an example of Crazy Sane in a way — he's a much better person as Moon Knight than he was as Marc Spector. Marc Spector was a selfish violence addicted mercenary. Moon Knight's still got an addiction to violence, but at least he's channeling it into fighting crime and helping people.

Disgusted, but not surprisedBruce Banner had DID even before he became the Hulk, at least in the comics.
And some alters like Joe Fixit and Devil Hulk have been able to switch with Bruce without transforming.

So we're starting the year of Marvel TV with a mindfuck again.
