Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Oh God! Natural light!Oh, I do remember one pre-release dream I had, but this was for Avengers: Endgame.
It was kind of mundane by comparison, but I dreamt that shortly after the film came out, it turned out that the film scored a 56% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes'; making it the lowest-rated film in the MCU and the first one to be labeled as "Rotten" by the site.
I remember waking up kind of dreading the possibility of the film scoring that low in real-life and the sheer amount of Internet Backlash that would happen if it did.
I didn't have any spider-man dreams, but I did have a dream I was Moon Knight, who was waking up from a dream. And that dream was the life I had lived up to that point, just a dream Moon Knight needed to wake from so I could serve Khonshu fully.
Now I live with the eternal question: Am I Gaon who dreamed he was Moon Knight, or Moon Knight who is still dreaming he is Gaon?
Particularly considering the Moon Knight trailer contains the line ""I can't tell the difference between my waking life and dreams."
"All you Fascists bound to lose."![]()
Right country, wrong philosopher, actually. The philosopher who expressed a similar feeling was Zhuang Zhou in the Zhuangzi, who dreamed he was a butterfly, but when he woke up he knew not if he was a man who dreamed he was a butterfly or a butterfly still dreaming it's a man.
Granted, I think my version is much cooler. I'd rather be Moon Knight than a butterfly.

But Jarvis is the orange one. Ultron is the blue one.
Ikaris is my guess
You don’t really have to stretch yourself to make a moveset for him.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell, I just watched Hawkeye's episode 5. Just wanna say something on its ending twist. Massive spoilers, obviously.
FUCK YES FUCK YES FUCK YES. The king is back in the MCU, baby.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Marvel has this thing that even when their films under perform, I end up being so invested in the characters that the idea of not seeing them aving subsequent appearences hurts a little.
Even though I love the Eternals film, ai understand why audiences and critics struggled with it, but I still want to see more from them regardless.
Ah well, What If serves a nice safety net for the MCU. Any character who fails to get their due in screen is sure to be utilised somewhere in that anthology it seems.
Heck I half expect the MCU to redeem my opinions of Malaketh at some point.
Eternals is going to be fine financially, and I honestly think you can chalk up the RT score to Critical Backlash. A lot of critics came in expecting an "auteur blockbuster" typified by the works of Christopher Nolan, Denis Villeneuve, and even Zack Snyder, and what they got was a typical (if longer and messier) MCU film with only subtle touches of Chloé Zhao's style. There was a lot of pitting it and Dune (2021) as Dueling Works, and in that sense Dune came out the winner by miles. And to be fair, it's not like Marvel didn't hype up Eternals in this vein.
Still, the parts of the movie that needed to work work really well and Marvel has done a lot with worse material. So yeah, Eternals is gonna be fine.

Hasbro put out a preview of America Chavez’s action figure, and it turns out her jacket
has “Amor es Amor” (“Love is Love” in Spanish) sewn on it.
That’s cute to see.
Got my opening night Spider-Man tickets!
Just one more day! One more day!
...Wait, that feels wrong to chant about a Spider-Man thing...

Oh, man, I also had one like you guys did.
Mine had me getting into the theater and sitting down to watch the movie... and then for some reason, they started showing Zack Snyder's Justice League instead of No Way Home. When I got up to ask the manager what was going on, I found the door locked, so I had to sit there the full four hours.
Curiously, Tobey Maguire was still in it. He showed up as Hal Jordan at some point and dream-me didn't question it at all.
