Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Huh. Well then.
I think we can agree this probably isn't a "Jonathan Majors says he's not in Loki" situation, since I don't see the point in lying about a poster. If it was legit he probably just wouldn't say anything.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI've seen it suggested elsewhere that what the poster likely is is a third-party knockoff made to be cheaply sold at retailers. They're usually more explicitly cobbled together from existing assets but with so little released material it looks more like commissioned fanart.
It's got some good ideas at least, kinda wanna see those happen still.
Like how can Jane be Thor if the Hammer is broken? In the poster, it looked very cracked, absolutely cracked.
Sincerely S Awatching.I feel like there is a good explanation for Mjolnir coming back: Eitri is still alive to make a new one, and since no one is around to make it so that only a worthy person can pick it up, Jane can pick it up and use it like Thor or Steve.

The legend has returned. In the comics yes, but Thor was given a moment in Endgame where even at his fattest and most self loathing, Mjolnir came straight back to his hand and showed him he was in fact still worthy so probably going to take a different (and dare I say it better) route in the movie version.

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Sorry to go off-topic for a second, but I just noticed on the MCU Wiki that apparently Kurt from Ant-Man's last name is "Goreshter". Did we ever see or hear that in the actual movies? Cause I sure as hell don't remember that.

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."I don't know where the MCU Wiki got that from. We don't even know Luis's or Dave's last names either, for the record.
Kurt's not the only one this has happened to. Alexandra from The Defenders (2017) apparently has the last name "Reid" according to the MCU Wiki, but this was never mentioned onscreen (even though it's plausible considering we know the Hand leaders have been through multiple names, as evidenced by Jessica finding those papers with Alexandra signing under so many different names, or Bakuto having a Japanese-sounding name but played by a Puerto Rican actor).
Okey Dokey! That's a Word of Saint Paul thing. Dastmalchian mentioned it on twitter a few months ago.
Huh. Interesting.
I guess the MCU Wiki is a bit more lenient on accepting Word of Saint Paul as viable canon unless proven otherwise. I think they have a similar stance when it comes to deleted scenes, since I've occasionally seen scenes that weren't part of the official film included on character pages. This section on Hank Pym's page
about a mission he did in the 80s in Buenos Aires is a good example.
About the Jane Thor situation, in the original story Thor was taken out of commission so Jane can be Thor similar to say when Tony was knocked into a coma so Riri Williams can be Iron Man or Batman getting his back broken so Azrael can be Batman.
Which I can imagine they won’t do this time because Thor losing his powers again and having to go through incredible self-worth issues may be a tad……. repetitive.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Plus, while MCU Mjolnir can give people "the power of Thor", it doesn't literally turn them into Thor the way Marvel Comics Mjolnir does. When Steve and Vision picked up the hammer, they were still just Steve and Vision; they didn't suddenly gain a winged helmet, locks of gold, and an extra-buff physique.
So while we may see Jane pick up Mjolnir and kick a bunch of ass, I'm doubting she'll actually take up the title of Thor. Most likely, everyone will simply call her Jane, and Thor will still be Thor.

That's actually the handle of Stormbreaker, not a ship.
