Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I always felt that if we got an MCU Goblin it could finally be one with the Expressive Mask from the comics, so I was a bit disappointed when it turned out we were instead literally getting Raimi Goblin and were stuck with that design. So I’m cool with him ditching the armor and going with a different design partway through the film.
They ditched the animatronic mask because it was too elaborate to look believable as a mask without a performer wearing it during the scenes where Norman is talking to it across the room.
They had trouble explaining why Norman had this mask in the first place, where as the finished film's mask is implied to be a cultural mask from his collection of exotic artifacts.
I thought they ditched the animatronic mask because Avi Arad was worried that it would be too frightening for children. Which... isn't that kind of the point?
But eh, whatever I do like the Raimi Goblin mask, so I'm glad we at least get a few scenes with it returning in this film. And I also understand why they wouldn't be using an animatronic face for the hooded look. Like Weird Al and a few others, I think that Willem Dafoe's facial expressions are far more terrifying than any robotic face can replicate. This movie pretty much gives him a chance to go full evil Jim Carrey, and I'm all for it.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."In honor of Thanksgiving and Spider-Man.
Remember when Norma served the turkey in Spider-Man 1?
Author Xiran Jay Zhao breaks down Chinese depiction in Shang Chi and the Ten Rings.
Ya know another sad thing about Black Panther's retiring is that with America Chavez coming in, all we needed was Blue Marvel and we could have had an adaptation of Al Ewing's high-concept Ultimates saga.
Just full high-cosmic shenanigan's with a team comprised of both the most powerful and intelligent superhumans on planet Earth. Would have been rad.

For context its a post describing the commencement of the filming of the Echo TV show in April in Atlanta and has a synopsis for the show mentioning her backstory with Kingpin.

Attachments are not the problem, Indifference is. Keelah se'lai![]()
That would be me, and yes.
I'm not precluding the possibility of Kingpin actually showing up in either show, but I do believe the rumors and theories on Kingpin tend to wildly exceed the reliable evidence just was the case for Mephisto in WandaVision.

As has been previously stated, if you find some random twitter rumor you don't think is accurate, then why post it here? You clearly already think this unofficial source "should be taken with a grain of salt," so why would you think we'd respond any differently? I can understand getting annoyed with all the rampant theories out there, but it can also get pretty annoying when you go out of your way to complain about them.
At the very least, FREQUENT PRODUCTIONS LLC
is a real company attached to Marvel's own production
company. Interestingly, it was registered on Nov. 5th, 2020.
These names tend to be pretty punny (see ROMANOFF PRODUCTIONS LLC
for Black Widow (2021), for example), so I'm wondering what "frequent" refers to.

Vincent D'Onofrio's Twitter activity in response to the speculation isn't helping matters. Yes, tweets and likes don't really mean anything here, but you can tell the guy's definitely pulling a Teasing Creator on those desperate for confirmation.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."
I dunno. Based on the activity and behavior of some people in Marvel, I think they severely underestimate the depths of what people will do or believe to find answers. I guess it doesn't help that you have a lot of other Teasing Creators out there who know those types of fans and have more experience with dealing with them.
So to something else other than unverified leaks. I really wanna see something high-cosmic.
Like the Guardians of the Galaxy which have been our main cosmic settings for a while now are more rugged cosmic. It features a sci-fi setting that is more grounded in a sense and the characters are more down to Earth somewhat.
With high-cosmic its more stuff like Galactus and the Silver Surfer. So the cosmic hierarchy of Gods, larger than live individuals solving/experiencing the full mysteries of the universe, with more insane superpowers and crazier tech that they can easily jury rig out of little resources.
Which Eternals is actually a good start to this with a focus on full superpowered individuals like Ikaris being able to fly unsupported in space, batshit technology Phastos can create with little effort, and the existence of all powerful space Gods like the Celestials.
Now we just need to shift the high concept setting to space.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Me, I'd rather see a movie about what the Secret Avengers (Steve, Sam, Natasha, and Wanda) were doing between Civil War and Infinity War.
Yes, we have the Infinity War Prelude comic to fill in some of the gaps (they took down some terrorists who got access to Chitauri weapons), but that doesn't explain all of it because one thing puzzles me.
I believe there's this conception that the Secret Avengers spent those two years doing the same superhero stuff they did before the Accords mess (Wanda less so than the others since she was meeting up with Vision; and Infinity War and WandaVision strongly imply that they were meeting up a lot, enough that Vision had bought property in Westview for them to build a house on* , and I firmly think Vision was going to propose marriage to Wanda at the moment he got stabbed). But I run into hiccups when it comes to the recognition factor. Because while the general public probably wouldn't recognize them, especially since they altered their appearances to varying degrees (Wanda dyed her hair, grew it out somewhat, and changed her accent; Natasha cut and dyed her hair as seen in Black Widow; and Steve grew out a beard), surveillance and facial recognition software was everywhere even in 2016 and I don't know how good those altered appearances would be at fooling cameras. (The only one who might be able to fool cameras without trying too hard would be Wanda, through her powers subconsciously altering her appearance just enough as to render her unrecognizable to cameras)
Hell, I'm left asking questions as to whether the Secret Avengers did anything stateside in the US, or they'd be wary of setting foot on American soil just because Thaddeus Ross has more jurisdiction there.

Okey Dokey!Basically anytime an avengers roster has existed I want to see a depiction of their life and times.
The big six in the six months leading up to Age of Ultron living in Avengers tower,
Steve, Natasha, Sam, Rhodey, Vision and Wanda living in the avengers compound,
The secret avengers on the run,
The mighty avengers (which were likely only Tony, Rhody and Vision? Weak team composition)
And the flipping bizzare team roster that persisted for the five years of the blip - Natasha, Okeyo, Rocket, Captain Marvel and Rhodey (and maybe Professor hulk)
Honestly if all of them could get an animated miniseries about each of them just so we could see status quos where the Avengers are doing stuff, I'd be plenty happy. I imagine all but the first is unlikely to get adapted though.
Also, wild to think how little time Clint and Thor have spent as active avengers.

And he's riding around on that glider thing
And he's throwing that weird pumpkin bomb
Yes, he's wearing that dumb Power Rangers mask
But he's scarier without it on!
