Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The dialogue is edited. He didn't actually say that.
◊
But he should.
He's a competent fighter but most of his practical experience was as a mercenary in literal war zones. He's got absolutely no compunction to fight "fair."
I think that the TV series needs to be looking at replicating the Daredevil kind of approach where it was made clear that Matt was a very skilled fighter and very tough but the perpetual violence had consequences even for the winners.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."The surefire way to tell it's edited is when there's uncensored cursing rather than the classic $#
Ironically, the dialogue in the "Semper Fi, Bitch
◊" panel is only slightly less comical
◊ (the hitman's name is Ice).

"All you Fascists bound to lose.""Let's get this bread"
should also be included, if just because that actually happened
in the comics
.
Moon Knight needs to be in a movie with Deadpool, they sound very similar..
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverFrom the looks of it the main difference between DP and Moony is that DP is insane in a looney large ham way while Moony is insane in more lucid cold ham way.
Als here's an interaction between him and Punisher.
"''He's good. How's your dead family?''"
Wow Marc is like the only person to openly mock Frank's family and get away with it.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The memes are just more vulgar and nonsensical, but Moon Knight having a tenuous grasp on reality has been a thing since pretty early in his story.
In his very first issues he's more of a The Shadow/Batman type where his multiple identities are just aliases and the whole "resurrected by a moon god" is more of a poetic affection. But as the 80's tick on and Bill Sienkenwicz joins the run the idea he has legitimate trouble discerning one identity from the next and seems to be legitimately powered by Khonshu (either supernaturally or in a Your Mind Makes It Real psychology sense) becomes a predominant character concept and it made him all the better for it.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Without knowing what Moon Knight looks like I'm picturing a guy running around in a full moon costume
have a listen and have a link to my discord serverInteresting to note that the most acclaimed MK stories of the last decade are the ones that focus on cerebral and atmospheric stories like the 2014, 2016, and the current 2021 series.
Meanwhile the maligned stories is the ones that go for a more generic superhero bombastic story like the 2017 run and the Age of Khonshu story from the current Avengers run.
An interesting critique of Age of Khonshu I once heard is that it has a more "atheist" take on Moon Knight which certainly sounds something.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mean, the Bemis run does try to be "deep", it's just really bad at it.
On the other hand, Vengeance of the Moon Knight is the most "traditional superhero" run and it's a lot of fun. It creates conflict between Marc wanting to genuinely be a better hero and Khonshu demanding vengeance. It features one of my favorites MK moments with his interaction with Spider-Man
. And Moon Knight fighting in his Captain America undies
.

There’s no problem that can’t be solved by the application of yet more moons
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI wonder who Moon Knight would end up encountering in the MCU, assuming that this isn't a one-time deal for Oscar Isaac. Him meeting Thor and Black Knight could happen. So could him and Doctor Strange.
Though seeing as Moon Knight is a mercenary who seems to do his own thing most of the time, what kind of threats would cause him to have to team up with other heroes?
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."The kind of villain that would make getting money kinda useless if they succeed, as in the Omnicidal Maniac types.
The legend has returned.Moon Knight actually isn't a mercenary. Marc Spector was a mercenary.
There's even an argument to be made that the "Moon Knight" persona is in large part Marc outright rejecting his identity as a ruthless amoral profit-driven mercenary while still engaging in a lifestyle that allows him to be violent.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIt's usually just some criminal conspiracy that crosses over to the both of them as Moon Knight just fights crime like every other urban hero. When that fails, the trick tends to be some sort of religious, moon-based shenanigans that makes Khonshu throw MK directly into things.
Moon Knight is the kind of hero who can in fact just show up and go "I'm here because the moon told me to be here. 'Sup."
"All you Fascists bound to lose."And Depending on the Writer, the moon may have actually done so.
Granted, Moon Knight should also demonstrate that just because one is actually the herald of an ancient moon deity doesn't mean that one isn't also suffering from mental sickness. It's not an "either-or" situation in Moon Knight's case.

Disgusted, but not surprisedIt would be funny to me if at one point in the show, Marc has a radio alarm awaken him with "That's Amore" by Dean Martin, and he smashes the clock in frustration.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."

"Random bullshit go" was also a thing that Moon Knight actually did in the comics at one point. That pic isn't an edit. At one point one of Moon Knight's tactics was to literally grab as much as he could from his pockets and chuck them all at once.
Surprisingly effective too, especially in 1v1s. He fought Black Knight once
and Black Knight blocked all the random bullshit except for bola that got his legs.
