Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

It's a callback to when Peter made the same joke in Infinity War.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Peter's reaction to Dr. Strange was "ah, right, our made-up, fake names".
And what's weird about Peter Parker?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. It’s alliterative but otherwise pretty normal
Ned Leeds is pretty suspect in his original context as a journalist guy. Following leads. Maybe burying the lede. But as a Ganke guy Ned Leeds is an okay name.

Pretty sure part of the renegotiations is that Sony can reference and use Tom, which is probably the only reason they agreed to cooperate again, but that anything that happens in a Sony Universe movie Feige is under no obligation to directly reference in the main series.
There's also the black suit some people have pointed to as evidence of Venom, but the merchandising has made it clear that the black suit is magically enhanced by Strange and isn't a symbiote. And besides, the Carnage stinger had Venom just suddenly hating Spider-Man for no reason, I don't think he'd want to help him even if he did show up.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThen why show Venom warping into the MCU world and focus on him getting interested in hunting after Peter Parker? Why highlight that if he's going to show up here?
In all likelihood that stinger will only be relevant to Venom 3, probably featuring a Broad Strokes version of Tom's Peter. I doubt Feige would just give Sony his plans for the future of the MCU for them to work around.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonIt's supposed to be Peter's responsibility to stop the villains, but couldn't Strange defeat them with a flick of the wrist?
Unrelated to the Spider-Man discussion right now, but I can't help but notice this wink and nod
from Vincent D'Onofrio.
Yeah, it could just be him showing support for the show, but it's still interesting given all the speculation around Kingpin.

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Ya know one thing to be excited for Moon Knight is the potential exploration of faith in regards to Marc being Jewish but casting off the faith he grew up in to be the agent of an ancient Egyptian deity.
Like this line from the current MK run.
"When it came down to it, I was the weak one. I sold out everything I been raised to believe in to save my own neck. To further indulge my addiction to violence. My FATHER'S God took us out of Egypt, My NEW God had kept us there."
Compelling stuff.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."A faithful adaptation of Moon Knight ought to get a few things right:
a) Make it ambiguous (at first) whether or not Marc really is a champion of a Moon deity named Khonshu or whether he's just delusional. Then make it clear that it's not a case of "either-or".
b) The relationship between Khonshu and Marc should not be a healthy one.
c) Khonshu should be an asshole.
Disgusted, but not surprisedd) Moon Knight attacks with all sorts of random bullshit.

Ugh, please no.
Marvel's generic quippiness is bad enough, we don't need to start shoe-horning memes in. Especially ones that don't actually come from the comics.
Something like Marc getting all geared up in a Edgar Wright style sequence, looking like an absolute badass, only to immediate wobble and nearly collapse like in the Charlie Huston run, now that's the kind of humor that could fit with the show's tone.
At least Luke Cage's "where's my money, honey?" line is from the comics and worked in-context without being a winking at the audience moment.
