Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Lizard didn't die. Unless Gwen managed to sneak into his cell with a gun sometime after the movie.
One Strip! One Strip! So it seems Superhero Movie Villains Die will be deconstructed.

Eh. I feel like going with either Harry would be a bad idea. Especially since James Franco has become rather controversial lately.

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."The trailer gives the curious sensation that Doctor Octopus is gonna be on the side of the angels given his words to Pete and the brief shot of him being struck by Electro's lightning near the end.
Also: the other Goblin in the trailer seems to be Amazing-Spider-Man's Harry Osborn but with Raimi verse's costume design.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."![]()

And here's a link to that thread. You're welcome, everybody.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Once again showing how different MCU Spidey is in his own movies vs in the Avengers films.
- Infinity War Spidey (zero hesitation): Why don't we just chuck him into space?
- No Way Home (also zero hesitation): These people all die if I defeat them normally, and even if they're bad people I wont' do that.
Anywho, I'm starting to get a feel for what the intention of this film is. I think the endgame here is to fix it so that Peter has his standard slew of villains all at once, by having it so that when all is said and done and the reset button is pressed the assorted alt-universe villains remain in the MCU. Maybe even history ends up being changed so that they've always been there.
I am really starting to think that Sinister Six film is coming up now.
Peter wouldn’t be the first hypocrite to think a no killing code doesn’t apply to aliens or robots

Venom will likely not be in the movie, since every indication is that Feige doesn't want to acknowledge Sony's universe. He made a deal that they can reference Tom now, but I really don't expect that to play into actual MCU canon.
Essentially what I'm saying is that Sony's Marvel Universe is probably the new Netflix Marvel Universe.
Except some of the Netflix stuff was actually good.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonDr Otto Octavius is a name that’s fine on its own but becomes a bit silly when a man born Otto Octavius then becomes Dr Octopus
It’s in the category of weirdly apt real names, like how the Vulture’s last name is Toomes which sounds like Tombs
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

I blame Strange.
