Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Oh yeah? This show will give us Uncle Ben's death in a way we've never seen it before... as the tearjerker season finale of an animated Disney+ show!
I agree though, a Not His Sled take could be rather fun if done well.
Unknown but if I had to guess I'd assume single-season. It seems pretty straightforward as a prequel to Spidey's appearance in Civil War, where he said he had only been active for about 6 months. Can't imagine how much they want to dig into it given he's still supposed to be mostly a rookie by the time Stark comes along.
X3: We actually don't know yet. So far, some staff
members have
just been confirming themselves on their roles.
It would be neat if, assuming this series lasts more than a season, the subtitle changes and it covers the gaps in Spidey's MCU timeline between movies.
Overused AF and creatively bankrupt to a degree.

Would also to be nice to see more of the MCU immediately following Winter Soldier and Age of Ultron as those were big status quo shifts where the ramifications never really got the attention they deserve.
Spidey will be coming into his own when humanity has learnt Nazis infaltrated the world's governments and it was almost wiped out by an Avenger made AI, and a brand new Avengers team of Rhodey, Sam, Wanda and Vision have just debuted.
Feels like it will be a nice addition to chronological MCU watches.
's got me thinking what other animated prequals I'd like. (Probably Black Widow immediately following Winter Soldier, or MCU hulk's oragin, which seemingly took place in 2003 and has passing similarities to the Ang Lee film but we'd imagine a lot of departures. Probably less whispering.)

Or he never died at all and does not exist in their continuity, its fairly obvious to me that's the direction they're going with Spiderman, there's no Uncle Ben or his wise words
Peter's first appearance literally has him re-phrase "with great power comes great responsibility" in a way that alludes to him not stopping Ben's death.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."He already earned it.
And like, he effectively fought against super soldiers despite having no powers.
One Strip! One Strip!Seriously, Sam earned it. He's been to hell and back in the last few years.
In order:
1) Riley got killed in front of him.
2) He got out of the military “for a reason”.
3) He went up against HYDRA with just his prototype wings, and nearly died when he took Rumlow on hand-to-hand.
4) He'd barely gotten back into the groove before Ross dropped the Sokovia Accords on the Avengers. The BS with the Accords is probably the same kind of business that turned him off the military in the first place, on top of whatever racism Sam experienced growing up, so of course he was going to say no to the Accords.
5) For choosing to help Steve and Bucky, he wound up getting shot in the chest by Tony and put in an underwater jail, then Tony blackmailed him with Steve’s possible demise to get him to give up Steve and Bucky’s location, which resulted in an even worse fight than at the airport.
6) Sam then spent two years on the run, while Sarah struggled with the family business. Judging by the readiness of Sam's, Wanda's, Natasha's and even Steve's uniforms, most of them were still doing their Avenger duties even while on the run. And Sam couldn't contact or be there for his sister or his nephews, or the local community that he has such love for.
7) He got dusted by Thanos, and unlike Bucky (who got to call out to Steve before he went), Sam was completely alone when he disappeared. Then as soon as he and all of his dusted teammates were brought back, Steve bailed on him and dumped the mess of a broken world and broken Avengers on him.
TLDR: Sam's been through the wringer, and doesn’t need to prove himself worthy of the painted Frisbee of Propaganda.
Okey Dokey!
Well, steve also face the OG nazis, even having to incidentcially save their asses for the monster they help to unleash and nearly kill the work.
but yeah, probably falcon would have to face a superpower being like steve did without the serum, that would be cool.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"I expect that the films will be written so that, if you haven't seen the Disney+ series, you won't notice that you're missing anything (if for no other reason than the service flat out isn't available in many countries).
Notice how Endgame ends with Steve giving Sam the shield so he can become the new Captain America. Then Falcon and the Winter Soldier opens with Sam giving up the shield, only to finally take it and the Captain America mantle up in the climax of the final episode. That means the next Captain America movie can open with Sam using the shield and still getting used to being Captain America, and anyone who doesn't have Disney+ can assume it's picking up directly after Endgame.
Wesley Snipes Shows Support for Mahershala Ali as Blade
Tony asks Peter why he's a superhero, and Peter says "In my experience, when you can do what I can do, and you choose not to, and people die because of that, that's on you." Clearly alluding to him feelig resooncibile for Uncle Ben's death from his inaction.
Tony's reaction to that is (internally) "boo, this kid is gonna agree with Cap if I'm not careful."

Uncle Ben clearly does exist in the MCU, they just haven't directly mentioned him by name yet (outside of What If Zombies) because they know that people already know about all that and just want to tell a different story with Peter.
