Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Little worried this new Spidey series will be another Peter still as a teen series.
Marvel needs to learn that ship has sailed.
One Strip! One Strip!Moon Knight looks like everything I've ever wanted. She-Hulk's made me chuckle because its the first teaser and it already basically has an ass-shot.

Honestly, that's pretty on-brand for Shulkie.
Marvel Zombies might be a separate, non-MCU adaptation of the comic. We don't know for sure.
She hulk looks way less muscular than I'd expect from the character. She doesn't look any more muscular than I do, which is a little bit disappointing as I was hoping we'd see some body positivity in that regard.
Khamala certainly seems to capture the feel of the comics, I approve.
Moon Knight has a niiice visual style. But it doesn't aliviate my fears it's going to be an unfair depiction of Dissociative Identity Disorder.
To be fair, the CG on her might not be finished yet.
...If that is CG. I'm sometimes terrible at telling the difference. I've looked at Henry Cavill's upper lip in Justice League so many times and I still don't see anything.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThe What If Zombies episode also has the little snag of T'Challa being one of the last survivors, which means there's really no option to continue from there in that continuity, since they've made it clear they will not recast 199999 T'Challa.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThere's also the fact that Marvel Television doesn't exist anymore and Feige is now in charge of pretty much all Marvel stuff in general, so it makes sense to credit Marvel Studios for these. The new Spidey cartoon might not be connected either.
Welcome change from when Loeb and Perlmutter were deathly afraid of doing anything different from the movies.

Actually, Spider-Man: Freshman Year is confirmed to be MCU-connected as a prequel animated series.
Alright, so here's my general thoughts on some of the stuff revealed so far.
I'll be honest, quite a few of these projects I'm looking at just seem like random spin-off stuff that's just there for the sake of filler. The Spider-Man prequel (do we really need to see a young Peter Parker go through his origin story again?) and House of Harkness seem like this to me (name sounds cool, but I don't know where that show could go).
I didn't hate What If...Zombies?! as much as some people did, but anything more than that episode seems completely pointless and unnecessary, and so I really don't get why Marvel Zombies is getting an adaptation. Although with the news of the 90s X-Men show getting a sequel series, on top of the cancelled Star-Lord T'Challa show makes me wonder if some of these shows were meant to really lean into the multiversal shenanigans that are starting to open up. Had Boseman not passed away, I bet that show would've leaned into it more.
Only seen a few snippets of She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel, and I haven't seen anything for Moon Knight. I hope that She-Hulk will explain how Bruce reverted back to normal in Shang-Chi. As for Ms. Marvel...I really hope she isn't just a Loony Fan Idiot Hero. I've seen that trope deconstructed far too many times, and it wouldn't feel fresh to me.

Fury's new look is cool and interesting, though I do prefer his OG appearance. Right now, he looks like that one character from Dune who keeps getting memed to death.
Though that reminds me, I hope we get some more Secret Invasion teasers. I'm really curious to see what that show is about.
