Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Honestly, where could one slot Thor and Jane breaking up? I feel like Age of Ultron would be the ideal time to slot it in, maybe during the aftermath of the battle in Sokovia, considering that there's a small time skip between the battle and the final scene at the Avengers Compound (certainly long enough for them to turn that "old storage facility in Upstate New York" into a compound, and for Laura to give birth to Nathaniel) as he says goodbye to Tony and Steve.
Okey Dokey!
Yeah, that would probably be the best place to slot it in.
Alternatively, they broke up some time between The Dark World and Age of Ultron, and Thor was just lying when he was bragging about Jane at the Avengers party.
In fact... where was Thor between those two films? The implication is that Thor went back to Earth to stay with Jane, but there's no mention of what he's been up to in that time. Was he just chilling on Earth when the HYDRA stuff happened? I guess he could've gone back to Asgard during that time, so I guess he never noticed "Odin" acting weird during that time?
Actually, I can totally buy Loki passing himself as Odin and being more subtle while Thor was around, and only started to get more egotistical and complacent once he left to find the Infinity Stones. Like, "Welp, Thor's gone. Might as well make giant statues of me!"
Eternals Sequel Is Not a 'Must-Have,' Says Producer
Man this is the first time I think an MCU producer has tried to downplay sequel hopes before the thing comes out.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."“That blasted Stark! Soon he will realize that DOOM is his master!”
“He’s dead though”
“Fool, do you think DOOM, master of sorcery doesn’t know necromancy?”
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

I'm so excited to see Natalie with beefy arms. She sounded really proud of her gym routine on her Twitter.
