Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I would like all of the alternative timelines of Endgame explored at some point. Alternate 2014 is the one I'd most expect to actually get adapted. But the timeline Steve settled with Peggy in has got to be interesting. Issue is it's probably considered mythology too important for What If, given that it would be fleshing out experiences had by a Sacred Timeline character.

Well, we can't have the alternate 2012 timeline explored because it's been pruned. No word on 2013, but if Steve managed to fix everything, it might be able to continue on its way without being pruned. 2014 is up in the air, but I'd definitely be down to see it if it wasn't pruned by the TVA.
I am curious about the alternate 1940s timeline Steve went into though. It seems to be on the grounds for a proper TVA pruning. But considering how weirdly time flows in the TVA + the Void + the Citadel, it's entirely possible that the multiverse might've come into formation already by the time Steve returned to be with Peggy.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Bucky does the return trip and he comes right back because he remembers that the 40's were not a great time to be gay.
But the timing of everything makes it seem like Sharon was dirty at the time of Civil War.
Like aunt like niece, I guess. After all, Peggy is complicit in all the various atrocities Zola committed to Bucky by letting Zola join SHIELD. And Howard even had a friendly nickname (“Arnie”) for a scientist who should’ve been tried at Nuremberg and sentenced to hang for his war crimes. (And they didn't just did this with Zola; the same thing was true of Wernher Von Braun, Kurt Blome, Frederick Vought, etc.)
Okey Dokey! It’s interesting that we don’t really get to see why Sharon helped Steve and Sam in Civil War. Because from how things are framed, this wasn’t about her helping Steve fight the Accords, it was more about protecting Bucky. Was she doing it because she’s also Steve’s “friend”? Or was there something more?
Okey Dokey!Even outside of the romance, she's the one that's given Steve's "No you move" speech from the comics. It's clear enough IMO that she doesn't like the Accords herself but she's neither initially targeted nor has the means to take it down herself. She's a spy, so she helps out the way a spy can: by grabbing intel and resources under the radar.
It's also heavily implied that her giving Rogers the shield is what put her on the run, and it's this combined with the Avengers ultimately not coming back for her that corrupts her into the Power Broker.
To be fair, the Thanos speech is presented visually without having to actually say it, which I actually quite like in a Show, Don't Tell kind of fashion.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonSo with the official confirmation of the villains appearing in No Way Home, thats an antagonist from every previous non-MCU movie.
Green Goblin: Spider-Man 1
Doctor Octopus: Spider-Man 2
Sandman: Spider-Man 3
The Lizard: The Amazing Spider-Man 1
Electro: The Amazing Spider-Man 2
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It can't be stated enough that we can only hope that this time they're going to try to avoid the "too many villains" issues that plagued the last installments of the last two Spider-Man franchises. Into the Spider-Verse does show it can be done, making most of the Sinister Six act as Wilson Fisk's henchmen. But movies with multiple villains must toe a fine line, as seen with the fact that most of the 90s' Batman films had this problem where the villains combined to have more screentime than Batman (even if we all liked Jack Nicholson's Joker). And Spider-Man 3 was also criticized for having too many villains between New Goblin, Sandman and Venom.note
Okey Dokey!

That wouldn’t work because Gamora “vanished” from the alternate 2014 as well, and Mad Titan Gamora was implied to have killed Thanos which she couldn’t have done if he disappeared.
