Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

TIL that Bill Murray has a secret role
in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Any ideas if it'll be any distinct Marvel characters? Or just a cameo of sorts? Because I'm kinda drawing a blank.
"Jon, I got trapped in the Quantum Realm, and I just got out... ugh, it's Monday?"
(Slightly) more seriously, maybe a Groundhog Day Casting Gag.

What a coincidence that Murray is confirmed for this film as both he and Paul Rudd are starring in Ghostbusters: Afterlife...
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."
"I want more details! Details about Quantumania!"
Nah, but I agree with you. I want more Scott and Hope, dammit! And I especially want to see how Hank and Janet felt about their daughter going off to fight aliens to save the world.
That being said, I am still kinda disappointed we won't be getting Emma Fuhrmann as Cassie. I like Kathryn Newton and all, but I felt that the former would've been great in Quantumania.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Appropriately enough because he and Owen Wilson are part of Wes Anderson's Production Posse, but Murray to me similarly has the look of someone who would be a Beleaguered Bureaucrat for the TVA, or something like that.
So I'm thinking maybe Phineas Horton
working for Kang in the present day.
Looks like Kevin Feige apparently wanted all six of the OG Avengers to die
in Avengers: Endgame.
Honestly in the same boat. The biggest takeaway I'm getting is that it swings for the moon and doesn't quite hit, and that legitimately sounds like an interesting watch. Probably the only legitimate comparison to the Snyderverse too, but I doubt this will be anywhere near as...frustrating.
Definitely sounds like a movie I can't easily recommend, however. My family randomly threw on Blade Runner 2049 some time back and everyone passed out 30 minutes in. BR2049 is an amazing movie but it's not an easy watch, it's something you have to engage with the whole way through. And I'm getting the same vibe with Eternals with all the talk about exposition and philosophy. And I'm fully up for that sorta thing, can't really say the same about my folks. ^_^;
Simon Russell Beale
(Into the Woods, The Death of Stalin) has a part in Thor: Love and Thunder.

The GOTG doing pretty good is pretty impressive since the cast just looks like a total rip-off of the movies yet the story and character development is pretty acclaimed. Helps that Dan Abnett, one of the writers of the run the movie is based on wrote it.
About the main issues I hear of the game is a simplistic repetitive exploration-combat game-loop and the combat is not as fun as it could be. Cause you can only play as Star Lord and his guns are peashooters that barely do any damage so Quill isn't even that fun to play as.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
