Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

On an unrelated note, I read all the spoiler marked entries about Kamala. Honestly, given how little I know about the character, I don't really have too much of an opinion about how her powers work. It does seem that they're changing it a bit to look similar to Monica and Carol's powers, so as to make her look similar to them. Which if true, would be pretty ironic given how people were complaining how the change to avoid much like Reed Richards was pointless.
Really, I just hope the character will be an interesting person. Like I said before, I'm fine with her being an in-universe fan of Captain Marvel who wants to be like her, but I just hope she doesn't come across as an ineffectual Loony Fan who causes more problems than she solves because she wants to be Carol so bad. One of my big Pet-Peeve Trope character archetypes is an Unintentionally Unsympathetic Idiot Hero who is framed as someone to root for.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."The Disney Wish Cruise Ship will have an special Summer 2022 dining experience known as "Avengers Quantum Encounter
". It will feature Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Anthony Mackie (Captain America) and Evangeline Lilly (Wasp) reprising to face off against Ultron (played by Ross Marquand, reprising from What If…? (2021)). F.R.I.D.A.Y. is also helping out, with Kerry Condon reprising.
To bring this action-packed spectacle to life, Disney Cruise Line have specially designed the restaurant with immersive cinematic technology, including hundreds of screens and special effects embedded throughout. Filming with the actors has already wrapped and they are now working on the post-production editing and effects. Because most of the battle takes place on the upper decks of the ship, they are re-creating it in photo-realistic CGI while the real Disney Wish is still under construction.
Let's be clear, just because Multiverse of Madness has to undergo some reshoots
isn't a red flag that the movie's going to be bad. After all, every Marvel project has reshoots scheduled from the get-go, so it means nothing, contrary to what a lot of people online seem to think.
Of course, there's a part of me that also thinks "Well, duh, these reshoots are kinda necessary considering that the leaks just sound awful." Or more accurately, the leaks are kinda weird because not a single one of the leaks to date has anything to do with Doctor Strange and make him sound like a secondary character in his own film (which is partly the reason I personally believe the "leaks" are just bad fanfiction).
Okey Dokey!Huh continuing my Kirby read and turns out Kingo isn'5 just a weeb, he actually is a movie star. When he first appears, Margo the human companion of Ikaris recognizes him as a famous Japanese movie star.
Also get this, Ikaris is pffffft of the North. No seriously, he is an Eternal who hails from the Polar Mountains where shit is bleak and gentle hearts are not bred.
And whose currently playing Ikaris, why the good old King in the North.
Looks like GOTG was going to have a bunch of one-shot short films at one point.
James Spader must really have zero interest in returning to this franchise. Not that I blame him.
Someone decoded the weird text from that Quantumania logo with the big hoops!
Sure enough, the hoopy thingies appear to definitely spell out Quantumania. (And speculate that it might be an example of how the alphabet looks in Kang's time.)
(Side note: who still can't believe that Kang the Conqueror is coming soon? And in a freaking movie about freaking Ant-Man and the Wasp?!)
Wow. I just realized that Spader hasn't had any movie roles since Age of Ultron. Nothing indie or blockbuster. It just stops. Guess he's really just been working on nothing but The Blacklist for all these years.
I wonder if I should check it out...
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."![]()
I love the blacklist and if anything you can make a superhero version of it specially since many baddies of the week are only know by their alies(the alchetmist, the stewmaker, the scimitar, etc), it would be easy to see how crimne interact with superheroic world
In fairness to Spader, I can 100% understand reprising a voice role from 6 years ago for cruise ship only presentation to not be that appealing, especially when he doesn’t have any ongoing involvement in the franchise like the others.
Considering how few actually survive their movie, I’d imagine a lot of the actors who played MCU villains were only signed on to one movie contracts, with zero expectation of (or seemingly interest in) returning. It’s a lot easier to sign someone up for side stuff like this or What If if it’s a package deal with further starring roles in the future, which is the case for the heroes confirmed to be involved.

I'm not all that upset about it either. If anything, I'm kinda confused as to why so many people were pissed off. And this is coming from a guy who was a big fan of the Foxmen as well.
