Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Don't forget that we got a 5 year time skip. Maybe he got a special learning bed like in The Venture Bros.
Perhaps New Guardians of the Galaxy with a sub for Gunn?

It would be a massive contrast.
The Guardians are an extremely crude group in general with the most civilized member formally being Gamora and which is now Mantis due to her politeness.
Quill, Rocket, Drax, Nebula, and even Groot and Gamora are all rather savage individuals to varying degrees of boorishness, at minimum being some kind of boisterous lughead.
So if Adam maintains his philosopher-hero character the interactions are gonna be a sight to see. Vision is a pretty good comparison, he has a similar temperament to Adam.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well, it makes sense to make him British since most of the Sovereigns with speaking parts in Vol. 2 were Brits.

Okey Dokey!I just hope the third Guardians movie doesn't have Gamora fall in love with Adam and the entire movie is about Quill trying to win her back or some bullshit.
Although seeing that word of mouth says the third Guardians movie is more focused on Gamora and Nebula, I'm not too worried about that.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."![]()
I think there's a fair chance Quill's arc in the film is to let Gamora go, as this Gamora will never be exactly like his Gamora.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Which would make sense. Nebula needs to figure out her relationship with this Gamora knowing that she hasn't gone through the experiences the other Gamora went through in the first two Guardians of the Galaxy films.
Okey Dokey! My hope is that Nebula will find that nice hat Kraglin suggested she get, and rock it for the rest of the film. And maybe find a love of her own.
...What? Is it wrong that I want Nebula to find someone she can be happy with after years of abuse and tragedy?

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Heh. So if I had the skill to rescore the entire final battle of Avengers: Endgame to this song:
....would you all call me a visionary, a man in need of getting his ass kicked....or both?
I actually even know exactly what part I'd synch to Carol's arrival too, but you'd have to watch the episode of Macross Frontier this song plays in to figure it out.
One Strip! One Strip!I'm still curious what they're going to do with Adam.
Since it's obviously too late to adapt his archenemy-ship with Thanos, the only thing that's really left is to do Magus. Which, if we're already doing "evil future bad guy" stuff, I'd kind of prefer Iron Lad and his connection with Kang for that.
Unless they're literally just going to adapt him as a Romantic False Lead, which... ugh. I hope not.
I admit, I'm curious as to where they'll go with Adam too now.
I suppose all we can do is wait to see what they've got planned.
One Strip! One Strip!Could have Adam oppose Kang too. Thanos had a multitude of personal enmities in the MCU (more obviously Gamora, Nebula, Quill, Thor and a bit of a Worthy Opponent thing going on with Stark) so Kang might as well follow suit and have personal beef with a multitude of people to be involved in the inevitable showdown with him.
Maybe the creation of Adam Warlock is a fixed point in the timelines that lead to Kang the Conqueror. The ultimate lifeform leads to the ultimate conqueror of lifeforms.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Maybe he'll be the Hero Antagonist of the movie, someone who generally thinks the Guardians have done the Sovereign wrong and need to be brought to justice, but holds no malice towards them, and is generally civil and polite in their presence. And over the film, his morals begin to clash with Ayesha's and he begins to question what he's actually fighting for before he makes a proper Heel–Face Turn.
It could serve as a nice way to contrast from Ronan and Ego, who were just vile pricks through and through.

Aw, snap! Colin from Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is Adam Warlock? Read he was surreal in that one. Oh, and he was in Midsommar alongside Florence Pugh. Cool!
