Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Or distinctive body type. Amanda Waller is an overweight black woman; how many of those do you see in prominent roles? Maria Hill is Slim White Woman #8586.

My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.
Except in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, where Maria was more Ambiguously Brown.
Wasn't she created in 2005? I don't think she ever reported to Reagan.
I come back here after going to sleep and I see a Hurricane of Hill Puns.
This Phils me with exhaustion.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Why did they write her as flirtatious towards or in proximity to Bruce
I know that she can be like that but consider where you’re making her aim it, the writers

Originally, she was just a distaff version of the Hulk created so Marvel could squat on the rights before the Hulk tv show could try anything.
Jennifer Walters was basically the Hulk. She got a blood transfusion from Bruce after being shot a lot by gangsters. Stress or anger or being threatened made her Hulk out, she couldn't really control it, She-Hulk was basically a different person than herself. Hulking slowly ruined her life and made it spin out of control.
About halfway into her original series though, Jen just decided fuck it I'm going to keep being She-Hulk because my actual life is garbage. And although she reconciled with her family and friends by the end, I think that stretch of plot is what influenced her characterization going forward.
When she starts guest starring in Two-in-one and Avengers and whatever else, she's She-Hulk full time with seldom a mention of Jen. When Plot Shenanigans in Avengers force her to revert to Jen, she freaks out because She-Hulk has become her real life.
The two-in-one and Avengers appearances become the thing where she's the fun loving Hulk who loves being a Hulk.
Also, she's a lawyer in her original series. I don't know how long it took her to become a lawyer again considering she ditched California where her license was and she considered become a fitness instructor over applying for a New York license during her stint on the Avengers. But eventually her thing became that shes the Other Superhero Lawyer, after Daredevil.
So thats the basic synopsis.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersShe tends to be a defense lawyer too.
Although the two of them have gone head to head in a court with Captain America as the defendant
Forever liveblogging the AvengersY'know, I kinda wanna see Jennifer Walters and Matt Murdock get apprehended by the TVA and attempt to be defense lawyers in their Kangaroo Court. I feel like that would lead to some funny hijinks.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Wonder if she'll do her fourth wall breaks or not? Especially since Deadpool's already coming.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThey could adapt her 4th-wall breaking differently than with Deadpool. With Deadpool, he talks directly into the camera, confusing all the other characters around him. With She-Hulk, she could be a self-aware narrator, with her actual character not showing any hints of 4th-wall awareness.
And then they do a big crossover with Deadpool able to hear Narrator She-Hulk and converse with her.
Do a fake documentary style like the office but have She Hulk be the only one who ever addresses the camera
Or do like the dan Slott run did and have the fourth wall nonsense be interacting with marvel inside marvel
Have her pop in the Avengers dvd and watch it for one of her cases

It occurs to me Maria Hill is like Marvel's equivalent to Amanda Waller
