Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

No, there's literally no way she's worse than Ragyo Kiryuiin. Unless this is the Ultimates universe, Marvel wouldn't be allowed to make her worse than Ragyo. Ragyo raped her children.
Her other child Graydon Creed whom she had with Sabretooth....... yes that Sabretooth.
They both abandoned him after they find out he's not a Mutant leading him to grow up to be an anti-Mutant and founding the Friends of Humanity hate-group leading him to eventually be murdered by his own mother.
Amusingly Sabretooth was the better parent of the 2 on the grounds that he at least respected that Graydon became his own man if he wanted to genocide him and later on does genuinely care about him far more than Mystique ever did.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."![]()
Mystique shot and killed one, threw one off a cliff right after he was born (fortunately for Kurt he already had his teleportation power so he bamfed himself to safety instinctively)...and that's not even getting into all of the shit she's put Rogue through as a twisted My Beloved Smother.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI think a What If for Cap's team recruiting him instead would be more plausible. I'm kind of doubtful about him being convinced to switch sides mid-fight. I mean, we know from his line "Mr. Stark said you would say that." that Tony already considered the possibility of Cap trying to talk him down, and had prepared Spidey to not be willing to listen.
Of course, you might need Ant-Man on team Iron Man to balance things out. Which I actually could see happening. Tony definitely has the resources to track him down, and while Scott has a bad history with the law, he could see this as a chance to show the world he isn't a villain. Hank would be even more pissed off of course, but Scott seems to have a knack for angering him anyway.
I'm just worried the name X-Men will be Adapted Out, if Victoria Alonso's recent words are to go by.
Like, I'm all for equal rights and inclusivity, but come on.
I miss those kids.

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Apparently Victoria Alonso has commented that the name "X-Men" is not inclusive enough.
...Which kicked up a Twitter shitstorm, but when I actually tried to source the comment, I could only find sites on the level of Boundingintocomics and wegotthiscovered talking about this 2019 interview, where she basically says it as a joking aside.
So I think mountain molehill.

Here
is a 2019 article that mentions it.
The timing of it going viral is so suspect, too, like right after she got a big promotion? Ugh.

Victoria Alonso, Louis D'Esposito, and Sarah Finn have been with the MCU since day 1 and are about as pivotal to Marvel Studios as Kevin Feige himself. They and who are listed on the Wikipedia article
as the "Parliament" are about as much as we know of the "inner circle" that has kept this train chugging.
I don't think 80s nostalgia is that popular these days but either way, I don't see why Dazzler can't be updated. There's no more reason to keep her a Fad Super than someone like Luke Cage who has also been updated for modern audiences.

I think she had a punk redesign in the past ten years or so
Really, you can slap her onto a lot of music genres as long as they're popular or cult popular
Forever liveblogging the Avengers

Mystique's been a terrible mother to all three of her children in the comics.
