Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

She apparently included them in the costume for the sole reason to make Clint carry stuff for her, or so she claimed.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIt was a Shout-Out to one of Diana Rigg’s outfits on The Avengers (1960s). Then it evolved into a monster.

Y'know, if Kate was going to be wearing a purple bodysuit with hip holes then she could have been wearing one of Hawkeye's classic costumes if he was going to go around in a shirt with an arrowhead on it, like a jerk
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSocial media has noticed a lack of Linda Cardellini in promo materials and cast lists. Do we know if she's appearing, will there just be a line about "sorry your mom couldn't make it, she's busy filming Dead to Me or something"?

Outside of his mental health, why would Laura care about his time as Ronin? He was a SHIELD Black Ops agent, then an Avenger. Both would have required him to kill people. And him killing a bunch of Yakuza doesn't seem to be something that she would draw the line at.
You and I remember Budapest very differentlyWhile there's other discussions to be had like mental health in law enforcers (which SHIELD nominally was, or something analogous to it) and are law enforcement deaths actually more justifiable than vigilante deaths and all his Endgame murderers were extrajudicial etc etc...
I think we are clearly supposed to read Endgame!Clint as a tad mad with grief.

It's easy to let media like Goodfellas, The Sopranos, and any number of Yakuza-focused Japanese media paint our impression of organized crime as a bunch of glorified, loveable rogues. Like pirates.
But no. Speaking as somebody who lives in an area with a strong mafia presence, they're universally murderous, thieving, violent scumbags and the world would be better off if every single one of them dropped dead. Doesn't give you the legal right to go extrajudicially killing them for a number of reasons, but I can't say Clint's 5-year stint as The Punisher makes me think less of him, and given Kate Bishop's edgy getup I can't imagine she thinks less of him either.
Anyway, the trailer. It's looking nice. The whole "Christmas as a backdrop" thing combined with the dark visuals makes me think Die Hard but with arrows instead of bullets. I'm looking forward to this one.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Well, this certainly looks more festive than Iron Man 3 was. I'm welcoming this with open arms.
Seriously, does anybody remember that Iron Man 3 is technically a Christmas movie?

Hipbone cutouts have their place (like on a monokini), but it's not really on a superhero costume.
Unless said superhero is bulletproof or something.
