Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I do like it when the MCU uses strange as a guest character in other films. His apparences in Ragnarok, Infinity War and Endgame were big sucsesses for the character, so I'm excited to see him in No Way Home.
I think Marvel know he works well in that role, given that he's seemingly getting a lot more guest appearances than other characters get.
To be fair? To Shuma-Gorath it’s pretty heavily implied that he had a tentacle in the cancerverse
It’s not just a place that’s also cancer. It’s a universe where your lovecraft adjacent horror terrors convinced the superheroes to kill Death to save Captain Marvel Mar-Vell

Strange is one of those characters I really wish I could like because his lore is really cool
But unflappable ultra powerful chessmaster type heroes are just never gonna be my thing. I like seeing heroes get beaten and outsmarted, at least some of the time.

Kaze ni Nare! The Jason Aaron run was pretty good about beating Strange to hell and back
I haven't read any complete runs prior to that.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersProbably not as while the fights feel really intense there's not a tremendous amount of blood or explicit/implied deaths - Goblin's skeleton bomb and the hospital massacre in 2 aside (and even that hinted at far more than it actually showed.)

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Speaking of the Green Goblin, I can make a good semi-serious argument that he's now the most evil MCU villain out there: because he busted into an old woman's bedroom while she's reciting the Lord's prayer and instead of doing what a normal villain does, he lets her get to the "and deliver us from evil" part and then peaces out. Only a true Card-Carrying Villain would pull that shit.
The legend has returned.

Didn't it come back in Annihilation Scourge 2 years ago where they proceeded to kill Nova a second time?
