Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I also forgot The Tinkerer in Homecoming so that's another one for the tally. God, that's a lot.
Running the numbers in my head it's indeed Carnage, Kraven the Hunter, Mr. Negative and Jackal as far as villains with some pedigree (Jackal being more infamous than famous but hey, it is what it is) not showcased yet. Carnage is more Venom's direct foe than Spidey anyhow (as noted by the fact he's making his film debut in a venom sequel).
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I pointed two posts ago he's incredibly new. He's still the most famous of the spidey villains since Venom, nonetheless. He's the proverbial Professor Pyg of his rogues gallery (they even both debuted the exact same year of 2007, Negative in May and Pyg in July).
It's more an indicator of how the films have actually been pretty impressively varied with his foes. Not all of them were done in a goood way, but at least most of them got a day in the sun.
PS: Tombstone is a good reminder, though I don't particularly like him as Kingpin-lite.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."- There's a rumor going around that MoM will feature Wanda vs. the Illuminati, led by Xavier. Don't know how reliable it is, but might as well throw it out there for discussion.
- Marvel is apparently casting a Latino lead for a Halloween Special
, most likely Werewolf by Night.
RE: DS2 Rumors: I mean, we have been hearing word about Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart being asked to be Logan and Xavier in a one last last gig, but both said "nah fam."
If (and it's a massive "if") Wanda does square off with someone from Fox's X-Men universe, it'd probably be someone from the First Class saga (First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix). Actually, should The New Mutants and the Deadpool movies count? Because the only folks I can think of that can square off against Wanda is James McAvoy!Xavier or Magik. (Deadpool probably wouldn't last five seconds.) Actually, bringing back Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik would be a massive win since almost everyone says she was hands down the best part about The New Mutants, especially when you factor in how tepid that movie turned out.
By the way, rumor or not, Sam Raimi directing a Doctor Strange movie featuring some X-Men sounds like a massive wet dream that none of us could have seen coming.
Or a Scarlet Witch movie, for that matter.
Ever since Wanda Vision, pretty much every theory and rumor about Dr. Strange 2 seems to cast the film as Wanda 2: the Wanda-ing (with maybe a Dr. Strange cameo here or there). We know that Wanda's going to be in the film, but I think that a lot of people are expecting the film to be 100% about Wanda and are setting themselves up for disappointment.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.Edited by Tuckerscreator on Aug 26th 2021 at 6:09:36 AM

Spider-Man has probably had the most respectable run between Green Goblin (and Goblin Jr), Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Venom, Lizard, Electro, Vulture, Shocker and Mysterio. That's a very solid tally of foes showcased.
The biggest one not shown at all so far is either Kraven the Hunter or Mr. Negative (and Negative is fairly recent).
PS: I forgot Rhino, though his appearance is so brief in ASM 2 to the point I'm not even sure it counts.
