Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

- In a deleted Instagram post Jamie Foxx said Electro "won't be blue", implying he's a different character, but in a Variety interview Alfred Molina claimed his Ock is the exact same one from the Raimi movies so it flips around for them.
Assume they are misleading you until proven otherwise.
Okey Dokey!![]()
Ah yes. That arc of Wolverine and the X-Men after Logan died where he asked Peter to take his place (and also look for a spy).
I think that's one of the only times Peter's fought Sauron, since he's usually an X-man guy. Then again, that arc deliberately had Spiderman rogues and X-men rogues teaming up.
One Strip! One Strip!Sauron's little bit there is one of my favorite things about that run, along with all the spoofs of the Sinister Six.
If memory serves, bare minimum there's the Sinister Sixty-Six (a bunch of solid-state holograms created by Mojo), All-New Sinister Six (featuring a bunch of absolute d-listers led by Swarm that disbands that same issue), and of course, Sinister's Six (evil X-Men clones created by Sinister).
It just... brings me so much joy.
Here's a picture of him in his civilian form but it's probably fake.
If it's not fake, then based on his looks, it seems that he's going to be a different Electro

I think Karkat has the right idea here. A special effects change, but still supposed to be the same character. Sort of like Hulk.
It would be a very Rick and Morty solution to the problem for Strange to just find a parallel universe where everything is the same except people don't know that Peter is Spider-Man, and then get rid of that universe's Peter and Stephen and take their places. XD

Kaze ni Nare!I assume changing the entire populations memory and presumably includes scrubbing all info off all digital and physical knowledge of Peter’s identity requires a powerful-ass spell.
Yeah that’s something to think about, Strange isn’t just wiping memories but he also has to outright change visual, audio, and paper recordings of anything that connects Peter Parker to Spider-Man. It’s a pretty big change.
For instance all the videos and interviews JJ made. That has to be changed in some manner or straight up erased from reality.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Fun fact, the concept of Peter having his identity revealed to the world and it being the status quo until the world gets their memory erased was an idea a writer had before Civil war and OMD were even a thing. The solution to the public identity was Purple Man being hooked into a machine and he wipes the memory from public knowledge.
One wonders if MCU Purple Man can pull off that trick.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

Probably not. Chadwick Boseman is already dead and Marvel would want to keep the Black Panther brand alive by having Shuri take up the mantle.
