Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

For a F4 Movie, I want to see Red Ghost (if it's an origin movie) or Mole Man (if not) as the first villain. Save Doom for a sequel.
For Doom actor choices, Waldeu is a great actor but I don't see any in his previous roles as particularly fitting of Doom's more Large Ham qualities. Ideally and more superficially, Doom would have some kind of classically trained stage actor who can deliver Doom in a Shakespearean, grandiose manner. Guys with the same pedigree as Kenneth Branagh and the main trio in Thor (Hopkins, Hiddleston and Hemsworth). In fact Kenneth Branagh himself wouldn't be a bad choice were it not for his advancing age (he's 60).
If I had to throw out a random, hypothetical cast for those villains I'd have something like Peter Stormare as Red Ghost, Timothy Spall as Mole Man and Ralph Ineson as Doctor Doom. Ineson has a notoriously absurdly deep voice, fantastic acting chops and a profound background in stage that I feel would carry him.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Hey, Gemma Chan and Mahershala Ali got second chances, anything's possible.
Sssshhh... let's keep a little mystery, shall we?

I'd actually expect them to composite the Champions and the Young Avengers. Kamala was part of the former team before she founded the champions with Miles and Sam Alexander aka, Nova II.
And since there's no Tony for Carol to punch a hole in to start Civil War II, we might not see her leaving this version of the team.
One Strip! One Strip!Yeah when you think about it, it makes perfect sense to composite Marvel’s 2 biggest teen teams into one comprised of each groups most popular members.
Though I presume they’ll go with Champions for the title since it’s more distinctive than adding Young in front of Avengers.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Also, the Thunderbolts in the MCU might be mashed with the Dark Avengers in terms of leadership and members. Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine will be the Nick Fury of the group while Zemo will be its leader and might become Citizen V or some other superhero alias since U.S. Agent would fill the spot of rogue Captain Patriotic. For the rest of the team, Yelena Belova is Black Widow, Agatha Harkness is Scarlet Witch, the Abomination is Hulk, Karla Sofen is Captain Marvel and some Thunderbolts mainstays such as Songbird will appear as well.
What separates the Young Avengers from the Champions in the comics is that the Champions are teenagers while the YA are young adults (though they started as teenagers in their debut.) But since it appears the MCU is changing around the ages of some of the characters (notably America Chavez and Wanda’s twins) that comic distinction is likely to be absent.

I wondered about calling the Champions (2016) and Young Avengers the most recognizable Superhero team, but then I realized that the Young Avengers have Brand Recognition due to the Avengers brand, while the Champions....have Kamala and Miles. They also have some of their own brand recognition.
I guess the New Mutants and the New Warriors are shit out of luck.
Edit: And hey. The 1975 Champions finally has their own page! Good for them. I don't care what Kate Bishop says. They make as much sense as most hero teams.

One Strip! One Strip!I’d say the distinction between the 2 groups is that YA started out as a group starring new characters that went onto become popular while Champions is taking already existing popular characters and making a team out of them.
To further the inverse there hasn’t been a YA title for years now but several of its characters have since graduated into individual stardom transitioning into other teams and titles such as Kate, Cassie, Teddy, Billy, and Chavez.
While Champions is still ongoing and is primarily just to have the big teen characters an outlet to interact with each other like Teen Titans and with the case of characters like Sam Alexander giving them something to do after a demotion in prominence.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If they want to be real young Avengers they’ll need some wacky roster changes
People need to quit for various reasons and then whoever is nearby needs to join because they were adjacent
Forever liveblogging the Avengers@Pizza Dog 11 One Moment In Time is still linked to One More Day, as it takes place in the divergent timeline caused by the deal, it's something the comics are currently dealing with in the Kindred saga, with Stephen confronting Mephisto about it
I forgot about Avengers Academy. It wouldn't be such a bad idea to mix them in.
Since I've been on a bit of a New Warriors kick for some time now, maybe add them in as well. They kinda need some positive press. Like, Civil War I devastated them in universe and out, and then the debacle with Outlawed, combined with COVID cancelled their 2020 run before it could even start.
I don't know why I'm invested in them, but I want to see them bounce back somehow.
One Strip! One Strip!

He's from Poland by the way.
