Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Yes, please stop. No one else here cares in any way, shape or form about the opinions of whiny internet incels, and your strange insistence on bringing him up in almost every one of your posts has quickly become annoying in the single day you've apparently been on this thread.
I'm sorry for the insulting tone, but I — and judging by the sudden attempt to change the subject back to Eternals, everyone else — truly do not give a shit.
~Link Mario Samus, this is your last warning. If you are here to sow discord with controversy talks, do us a favor and leave.
That’s because a trailer came out
It’s like delicious speculation candy
Forever liveblogging the Avengers....I feel like he should be worthy if Cap is worthy. I'm clearly missing something.
One Strip! One Strip! So I'm currently watching Endgame and I got to Clint's one scene of him doing morally questionable things to Yakuza thugs. I think a good plot idea for the Hawkeye show would be for one of the villains to be someone who was Snapped and then came back to find that most of their loved ones were killed by a crazed vigilante.
The legend has returned. That's not a bad idea although my immediate thought is that it would obviously have the same The Complainer Is Always Wrong vibes as various people who want revenge on Tony Stark. Maybe more so because of who Clint's targets were.
But it makes a lot of sense because in the source comic, Hawkeye's opponents are The Mafiya, and it would be a good fit if they were after him for Avenging the Villain reasons. Or perhaps he inadvertently caused the show's antagonist to take over that organized crime group by creating a power vaccuum.
I don't know if this is the path the show will go, but I tend to figure/hope that Hawkeye will basically be Kenshin - both in terms of the seeming bumbling and in terms of vowing never to kill again.
Granted if your relative was in a gang and engages in violence, you can't really get mad if he winds up getting himself killed over his poor life choices.
Especially if we're talking Yakuza whose daily life-style is lots and lots of street brawls.
Hey yeah this would be a good way to give him his rule against killing.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."That's a very good question. My gut says "it probably isn't in his hands, at least not entirely," though the MCU is such an engine of moving parts that it's hard to say he wouldn't totally be uninvolved.

It's possible Sony's waiting until it's attached to Venom: Let There Be Carnage, in the hope of brand synergy or something.
RE: NWH trailer: Yeah, last I recall, all MCU Spidey movies are Sony's to market and do trailers and commercials for. So any concerns and "where muh spidey trailer" questions should be taken up with Sony. Not Marvel Studios.

I can picture Sony either waiting for CinemaCon or Venom 2 to spill the NWH beans. Then again, the former scenario might be the more concrete since Venom 2 got delayed recently.

Yeah, I've literally never heard of that person.
