Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

If you have a multiverse you might as well explicitly canonize AOS as a different timeline
Doesn’t mean they’ll ever do anything with it again
Forever liveblogging the AvengersOn the one hand I really wanna see more of him as Kingpin because he was amazing.
On the other hand it'll probably be the final nail in the coffin for the campaign to revive the Daredevil show, since it'd presumably be a wholly new Kingpin just played by the old actor.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The Daredevil show would never return as far as I understand it, so that doesn't mean much. The best you can hope for is Charlie Cox and Vincent D'onofrio playing new versions of the characters.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Netflix has moved on and so has Marvel. At this point, Broad Strokes and new places for the character is the best that can be hoped for as said ![]()

Maybe it's even for the best if this is a new version.
I mean, Daredevil-Kingpin's Arc was pretty much defeated. He has no reason to come back into power, even willingly, as he wants to protect his wife from being prosecuted.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI just remembered how the 100th episode of AOS did this bait-and-switch where it suggests the whole show was just Coulson's Dying Dream, and I'm wondering if they would pull a stunt to retcon out the last two seasons of the show? Coulson ends up dying and imagining the adventures his team went on after he's gone. Explains why the Snap isn't really brought up in the show.
Although multiverse is probably the more likely explanation
It's not just ignoring the snap (as much as I would like that).
There's also the issue of their use of Inhumans.
After the big push for them bombed, Marvel likely wants to scrub everything connected to them, and AOS made big use of them.
Like, there's a continuous debate in this thread about how their going to retcon out Kamala's Inhuman origin.
And to be fair, despite being one of them, she's never been tightly tied to them, not unlike some mutants in the early days.
But yeah. It's both the debacle with ignoring the Snap and their use of Inhumans that probably killed its canonicity.
As for whether they'll say it's multiverse shenanigans....that would make things easier. It's just a matter of if they want to do that.
Creators can get real persona about things that don't fit their vision.
One Strip! One Strip! If they bring back D'Onofrio as Kingpin and he is appearing in Hawkeye, I have an idea as to how they'll introduce a new version of him.
From what I understand, Hawkeye is planned to explore the consequences of Clint's five year rampage against the criminal underworld in Endgame. Depending one how many bodies he's racked up and where, it could've been enough to damage Wilson Fisk's criminal empire, and that could make him set his sights on Clint for revenge.

"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."Hawkeye faces the Punisher, Kingpin, Bullseye and Daredevil after his criminal rampage.
Fuck you Clint this is Daredevil season 4 now.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Punisher in this at all is no thanks
These d plus shows only have so many episodes and I’d rather the time be given to Kate and Clint if he’s going to be cool about it
Forever liveblogging the Avengers![]()
Well, the Punisher himself doesn't think his actions are deserving of praise. He just does what he feels needs to be done, but it's not like he enjoys it or anything. Hell, he actually looks up to people like Captain America and fully considers them better people than him. He's not a good person, he knows that, and he never claims to be one.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonMy WMG for how the Hawkeye series will start is that Laura Barton will find out about the extent of Clint's crimes during the five-year interim, and file for separation/divorce, while also being granted joint custody of the kids on the basis that her husband is insane based on the brutality of his crimes or something. This would lead to Clint reflecting on the person he became without his family, and force himself out of retirement to train Kate Bishop.
Alternatively, maybe Yelena Belova attempts to kill him while he's with his family, which is what causes the separation/divorce.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."

Yeah, but aren't there rumors that Kingpin and Daredevil might return to the MCU at large relatively soon? Apparently Charlie Cox has been seen shooting scenes for No Way Home, and there's speculation that Kingpin might appear in Hawkeye.
