Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Peyton Reed celebrates the first day of principal photography for Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania by bringing back an old friend!
It's the rabbit doll Scott gave Cassie in the first movie. Fun Fact: it was actually voiced by Tom Kenny!
EDIT:
'd
Actually, I think the way the scene was meant to be viewed is that it initially appears that Scott picked some random toy out of desperation... but then Cassie actually loves it, thus showing that Scott is a better father than he appears to be.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI'll give Scott credit, even if that rabbit's appearance is...unconventional, it at least is unique from the other stuffed bunnies kids would get from their parents. Plus, having a scary stuffed bunny can be something that appeals to some kids, Cassie included.
I am curious as to why Cassie was recast though. I like Kathyrn Newton, don't get me wrong. But I was hoping that Emma Fuhrmann was going to get to do more as Cassie than what she got in Endgame.
Also, I'm very curious to see how Yellowjacket returns, and if he'll team up with Kang and/or encounter Cassie again. And since the Creative Committee ain't a thing no more, there's a chance they can really get him to spread his wings this time.
"I'm Mr. Blue, woah-woah-ooh..."I think with a little rewriting it could have been funny that Cross has no beef or interest in Scott, like ignoring him to address Hank
I dunno
Forever liveblogging the AvengersCross did end up having beef with Scott because he, a random ex-con, managed to get Hank's approval. Something Cross couldn't get despite all his brilliance thanks to his lack of a moral center. Since he kind of had a "Well Done, Son" Guy thing going on, that Hank approved of Scott of all people and not Cross really pissed him off.
I still remember, since I knew absolutely nothing about the Wasp, that I was convinced there was going to be a twist and HOPE would turn out to be the Yellow Jacket, and in cahoots with Cross.
My reasons for thinking this were:
1. I'm autistic and thus I can't detect romantic tension all that well. So I thought Hope genuinely didn't like Scott because of how much focus Pym was giving him.
2. It would explain why Yellow Jacket can apparently fight, even though we spent the entire movie demonstrating that being Ant-Man is hard and something Scott had to get used to. Hope already has experience using the technology. Cross doesn't. This one kinda just turns out to be a plot hole (or at least a contrivance)

Kaze ni Nare!Edgar Wright very famously can't write women for shit by his own admission. So in his original version, the original Wasp was just dead and Hope had a much smaller role.
Overall, Wright is a much more accomplished filmmaker than Reed, but it's a blessing in disguise than things turned out the way they did.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Scott is weird because, while I like him as a character, neither of his focus movies give him a good antagonist. Cross and Ghost are Hank Pym's antagonists, not Scott's. Scott is just along for the ride Hank set up. Both movies are about Hank's goals. First it's "steal back my tech", second it's "rescue my wife".

Black Widow is getting
a digital release on August 10 while being released on DVD/Blu-ray on September 14.
