Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

They had a whole thing one time where the kids in the Future Foundation broke down the use of color in heroic versus villainous individuals as part of an extended pseudo-meta conversation about comic characters. Green and purple are by far the most common colors for villains.

Purple, Yellow and Green are evil coded colours in classic comics.
Look at Spider-Man's classic rogue gallery and you'll see half of them wear green.
Vision is the colours that he is because he was initially meant to look eeeeevil.
Likewize Hawkeye started off as a villain so he wears tones of purple.
The Hulk is also green but that's due to a printing error that stuck, but it fits his anti hero role.
Other than them you don't see many classic heroes wearing those colours.
Almost all the classic heroes wear red and or blue, with black of all things as well.

I just hope they actually manage to pull off Doom's comic book cheese.
Like that's his entire appeal and attempts to make him more grounded will fail.
His name is Dr. Doom after all.

We do need time to set-up a proper new Avengers.
Give Sam more experience with the shield, bring in Iron Man's successor, and just generally get some new blood up to speed like Shang-Chi.
And then there's the Fantastic Four and whatever they Hell they are gonna do with the X-Men.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Oh they are an option too. Especially since we are bringing in the multiverse, the Squadron Supreme are a possibility.
Really want a show or movie about them that delves into the original stories theme of idea of whether superhumans can truly bring a utopian world by enforcing it.
My only note there is hopefully Power Princess gets a design that elevates her from blatant Wonder Woman rip-off.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."We have a trope for villains in purple and green (and orange): Secondary-Color Nemesis
I have a question too. Kang is pronounced like "Kong", right?
Can you imagine the salt if Squadron Supreme shows up and the MCU does the Justice League better than the actual DC?
I mean, the Squadron Supreme are basically Lawyer friendly Justice League.

"The Black Rage makes us strong, because we must resist its temptations every day of our lives or be forever damned!"

My problem with his outfit is really quite petty.
I don't like that both him and Thanos prominently feature purple. It makes me compare the two more than I probably should, especially since Kang seems to be taking over Thanos' role as the grand, overarching final boss of the MCU.
