Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

X5 I did laugh. And then they ruined stuff.
They are good for a few chuckles. That can't be denied, but I truly do believe most memes end up perpetuating the wrong ideas about certain shows and characters. They are basically the embodiment of Flanderization and Never Live It Down.
....but if you know some funny ones, feel free to tell them.

One Strip! One Strip!I'm late but yeah, Thanos is the biggest Fountain of Memes in the franchise hands down. It's certainly a credit to Brolin and the CG department for instilling the character with the sheer menace and gravitas he needed to leave a mark.
Self-serious autistic trans gal who loves rock/metal and animation with all her heart. (she/her)There’s also the fact that that letting memes dictate the media is just a waste.
Like with Green Lantern, the franchise has a lot to offer with various compelling characters and stories so it’s quite honestly asinine to waste all that in favor of just portraying Hal Jordan as some try hard loser because of one bad movie.
The prospect of a Power Man and Iron Fist movie/show is worth far than some shitty “Iron Fist sucks” meme. The latter is inherently worthless.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Hey, it only took Aquaman... *checks watch*... 45 years to live down his depiction from Superfriends. Wait until 2062, and then we might finally be able to take Iron Fist seriously again.
I wouldn't mind Finn Jones reprising his role as Danny Rand. He was good in Season 2 once he had a little more acting experience and a much better script to work with.
Also I'm just unhealthily attached to the Netflix shows and want them to continue exactly where they left off with the exact same actors, but I know that's just a shitty pipe dream. So sue me.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! It really comes across, intentionally or not, as Nat implying self loathing just because she can’t give birth, which I understand rubs lots of people who don’t wanna be parents wrong. I’m about to go to sleep atm but I’ll say Whedon for obvious reasons earns absolutely no benefit of the doubt, especially as of recent. He really hurt the character of Nat long-term, I feel.

not just that but people who DO want to be parents but can't, for whatever reason. As written the monster is Natasha for being unable to have children, not the ones who rendered her infertile.
It's just a badly written line that was largely superfluous anyway. Nat already had self loathing, as per the "red in [her] ledger."

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."![]()
I remember watching a clip of Ultron and he totally used the same guy falls in womans boobs joke he used in Justice League with Flash and Wonder Woman.
In this case during Ultron's birth/first attack and while finding cover Bruce finds himself dropping into Nat's cleavage.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If there's one thing to bemoan about the MCU, is that we are effectively stuck with a single character interpretation for the foreseeable future.
Meaning Ultron will never have another chance to headline another movie again for the time being and actually be awesome.
Compared to say sure Leto-Joker was fucking abominable, but we're not stuck with that version.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

We need to fight memes... with memes.
