Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The only problem I have with Strange is that he sometimes comes off a little too calm for what the situation is. Hands got completely borked? Sure, later he's seen agonizing over it, but at the time the acting gives off the impression of "huh, this is a possibly major annoyance" instead of "ARGLEBLARGLE MY HAAANDS", which I think would be warranted.
The rest of my problems with the acting are probably just my problems with dialogue in the MCU in general. Sure, he's way too calm when snapping off pithy one-liners about enemies, but that's practically everyone in the MCU now, so it's not exclusive to Strange or anything.
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrJameela Jamil
has been reportedly cast as Titania for She-Hulk.
I remember her, since I've watched a bit of The Good Place, but I recall she's not particularly buff.
I guess she'll be bulking up for the role, that is, if I'm not misremembering things.
One Strip! One Strip!I wonder if Titania will be a Tragic Villain like in the Slott run.
Woo, Titania! Just have Titania and Absorbing Man as a fun evil Battle Couple. It's all I want.
That said, it's the Illuminerdi saying this. Don't they have a not-so-great track record?
They're... mediocre. It's no "We Got This Covered, a site so unreliable it's statistically safer to assume anything they say it's wrong" but they're not much better than a guess.
They're also pretty shameless in that their response when wrong tends to be "well, it's what we were told and it's their fault we were wrong" which leaves a bad taste in peoples' mouths.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. From what I can tell Illuminerdi's record has been overall average for the (relatively) brief time they've been active, but their perception has improved enough that Murphy's Multiverse, which historically is considered more reliable, has been reblogging everything Illuminerdi tweets for months.
That said, James Gunn ripped into them back in March for rumors about an Adam Warlock casting call
, if you want a major case of them being wrong. YMMV on what that means of their reliability.
My rule of thumb is that if it's not from one of the big 3 trades, I tend not to believe it.
A lot of the time, other smaller websites are just repeating what one of the trades reported in the first place.
Jamil is a bit of an odd choice for Titania, but if they're going for a more humorous tone, as seems to be the case, then it could totally work. Especially because in more recent comics Titania is basically a hero, though she'd still prefer to fight Jennifer, she has the restraint not to. She and Carl can also be very funny together since they both have strong everyman vibes as opposed to a lot of larger than life heroes and villains.

I can take or leave Cumberbatch's American accent but other than that I'm not sure what he did with the character that was wrong exactly. I think any issues with Strange are more down to the writing.
