Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I mean. They made Klaue one of the most weirdly charming villains in the series (and then killed him), turned M'Baku into into an awesome heroic figure, and Killmonger a sympathetic extremist who genuinely had a few decent ideas (and then killed him) so honestly, Wakanda needs some genuine assholes to tussle with.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Hah. I can't believe we've reached the point where Namor is considered a joke compared to Aquaman.
Like, this is truly a bizarro universe.
One Strip! One Strip!I remember that.
I think that happened back when the Aquaman is lame Meme was still at its strongest.
I'm pretty sure Seth did that as a humours subversion. I doubt he ever expected for Arthur and Namor to swap places in the which one is the bigger joke scenario.
Even Deathbattle has shown Arthur is the better of the two.
One Strip! One Strip! The advantage is that Aquman has consistent prominence.
Not only does he have his own ongoing and supporting cast but he's also got a permanent spot on the JL.
It ensures he always has something to do compared to Namor who tends to suffer from limbo.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Topic change: I remembered today that Jensen Ackles was offered the role of Hawkeye but turned it down, and because I don’t particularly enjoy Renner’s Clint I think I would have liked to see that.
So are there any What Could Have Been (courtesy: WhatCouldHaveBeen.Marvel Cinematic Universe) castings that you think could’ve done a really good job, or would have otherwise liked to see?

Apparently Blunt has stated the only reason she didn't take up the role was because she was contractually obligated to work on Gulliver's Travels (2010). That's got to be the biggest regret of her career.
Some of the proposed voice actors for Rocket sound interesting. Sharlto Copley and Danny DeVito seem like the ones who would best capture Cooper's performance. But I gotta be honest, it would be very surreal to see the universe where Rocket is voiced by Bob Belcher.
Also, Anthony Mackie was almost the Mandarin in Iron Man 3? What?!

Emily Blunt as Black Widow, Ken Watanabe as the Ancient One, and anyone else besides Benedict Cumberbatch for Dr. Strange.

Fourthing (or however) Blunt's Black Widow, although I imagine we might have lost some of the Steve & Natasha relationship (since that arose in part because their actors are good friends IRL)
She's also spoken about superhero fatigue, so maybe not, or not anymore.
LOL Same. He's not terrible or anything but I would have wanted a performance more unique than "Magic Sherlock"

B-b-but Magic Sherlock is why Cumberbatch works in the first place! >:U
It'd work better if he actually kept his accent though. Dunno who the hell told him to go Generic American, it's at least "better" now (YMMV) but still.
Cumberbatch was the best matched casting since RDJ. Fight me.
