Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Honestly, I think they won't include any mentions of the Inhumans in Ms. Marvel. Maybe they won't make Kamala a mutant, but I think her origin could be tweaked enough so it's not a part of the Inhuman lore. I gathered that the Inhumans really don't play a huge role in her series, and after their series crashed and burned, I doubt Marvel Studios would want to deal with them for a long time. Plus, they'd have to explain the basics of what the Inhumans actually are for those who haven't watched the previous shows or read the comics. It's probably a lot more pragmatic to change the origin slightly than deal with all that.
I don't think anyone at Marvel Studios considers Netflix, ABC, Hulu, etc. material to be canon. But they do know that those shows have fans.
The impression I get is that there's a little bit of reluctance to actually pull that trigger and fire the first official non-canon bullet. To actually depict a new Luke Cage or have a new Kingpin show up as a villain or do a new Runaways series or something that would say, in no uncertain terms, that the other shows are not canon. It has to happen eventually, but it's going to suck when it finally does 'cause a lot of fans are going to be outraged. No way around that.
Right now, they're floating around plausible deniability. You don't know that it isn't canon. You can't prove that it isn't.
But once that first shot's fired, it's free game. Suddenly all of the material from those shows will be ripe for the plucking.

Maybe in the comics, but on the mcu Wanda seems to be an example of Randomly Gifted.

Given how much weight Agatha puts on the name Scarlet Witch, I'd say she's closer to Chosen One.

Current word on the grapevine is that Miss Minutes is being voiced by Tara Strong. I'm awful with this sort of thing especially since Minutes is clearly going all Southern but just as an fyi, have no clue if it's actually true but it's neat if it is.

And we'll have to see how Kamala's show incorporates the Inhumans into her origin, if they don't just change it to something else. Honestly, I don't think that many people would be too upset if they did.
