Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

That's mainly because there's less gamma power in Jen than there is in Bruce. She retains her intelligence and can transform at will because she only got a blood transfusion from Bruce instead of a full-on gamma bomb to the face.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonWe know who's playing She-Hulk, by the way, it's Tatiana Maslany
. Who is 5'4", so it's very likely that the She-Hulk form is going to be 100% Motion-Captured CGI.

Hypothetically, if we can get Milana Vayntrub a part this Squirrel Girl project, it would be a neat callback to her brief opportunity starring in the scrapped
New Warriors pilot set in the MCU.
x2: Yeah, I trust the kind of budget the Marvel Studios series got to pull it off. Unlike the various Arrowverse series that pulled off similar characters with mixed results, the short season should help.

Don't really think that's an issue, there has been quality Superhero TV stuff before, see the Netflix Marvel Verse or Doom Patrol and co
The focus on the CW shows is different, they make new and longer Seasons every year instead of shorter seasons all 2 years.
It's like saying Fast Food will go out of business due to more Gourmet Restaurants opening.
(Note: I love the Arrowverse, though this year has certainly not been kind to it)
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianPeople still thinking they're gonna have to cheap out on She-Hulk is legit hilarious when the Wandavision BTS revealed that they CGI'd Vision's synthezoid head in every episode just so they didn't have to deal with the prosthetics. And FAWS had to CGI some of Captain Falcon's headpiece to make skintight fabric.
They're throwing Hollywood budgets on these shows and Endgame had Bruce spend 95% of the film Hulk'd out. They'll make She-Hulk work.
Looks like Mads Mikkelsen might be coming back as Kaecilius in Multiverse of Madness.
Unless it's a flashback, Mads Mikkelsen as directed by Sam Raimi is going to be a treat and a half (even if I wanted him to be Doctor Doom).
UPDATE: Looks like they got rid of the part regarding Multiverse of Madness. Luckily, Synchronicity has us covered with a cached version of the article.

In the previous film Dormammu was played by benedict cumberbatch in a indirect form, implying to me he just took Strange's form. I always wanted that Dormammu took Kaecillius's form after he absorbed him so Mads Mikkelsen plays Dormammu. Hope they go with that.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I read this earlier today, then read it again when I got home, and went cross-eyed when I saw
. Checked the cached version
and seems like they took this line out:
- He started rehearsing James Mangold’s “Indiana Jones 5” with Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, to be followed by a role as Kaecilius in Marvel’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
Some discussion in the Comics thread reminded me of something I had seen (I think on the Marvel Studios Spoilers Reddit) and I wanted to discuss. I have no idea if it's accurate (I'd take the second part with a grain of salt), but it would make a lot of sense.
So, apparently (it's on Wikipedia for whatever that's worth), Gugu Gugu Mbatha-Raw's character in the Loki show is Ravonna, Kang the Conqueror's lover/enemy, and there's a rumor that Kang himself is going to appear. The support for that that is that apparently, on IMDB a name is listed on the Loki crew as the costumer for "Mr. Majors", and the person listed was also the costumer for Jonathan Majors (Kang's actor) in Lovecraft Country.
But in any event, I could very easily see Kang appearing as "Victor Timely" in the Loki show. I kind of imagine him as seeming pretty non-descript, and possibly even being genuinely not evil at that point in the timestream.
Gugu being Ravonna was reported a month or so ago
, yeah, during the round of character descriptions put out after the trailer dropped which revealed what everyone's names were. Specifically, she's going by the name Renslayer.
As far as I'm aware, any information about Kang himself appearing is a rumor, albeit one that makes sense.

Cool. I didn't know that was confirmed. I guess it's okay then to discuss it without the spoilers. Suffice to say, even though the MCU divorced Hank Pym from Ultron, I would assume that you can't do a plot about an organization making sure no one screws with the timestream without having Kang show up in some manner.
Also, I want to bring up again how it clicked for me when it was announced that Kang was appearing in an Ant-Man movie that the quantum realm/time travel suits have a suspicious resemblance to Kang's costume. Which suggests the nicely ironic reveal that the circumstances that allowed for Thanos to be defeated allowed for the creation of another galactic Evil Overlord.

My guess at the time was that her comics origin will play out during the show, since in the comics she and Kang met when he invaded her time period and tried to force her to marry him, with her falling in love with being the twist at the end of that story.
So my theory - just a theory, though - is that Ravonna will be introduced as a temporal refugee from an invasion of her time period, not much info. Then Kang's empire will become a threat partway through the season, and be revealed to have been the force that invaded her time. And then at the end, when they try to stop Kang or something she decides to join him instead. Cue set-up for Antman 3 where she'll appear as Kang's queen, or whatever other big thing they're planning for Kang afterwards.

Dormmamu was wasted their.
He's one of the most bombastic and scenery chewing villains in the whole Marvel universe and they reduced him to a GDV with his iconic form taken out. A waste.
