Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

It does though it varies on the artist on how much it works.
Tradd Moore the original artist of his run was a fucking master of kinetic motion and speed lines making his driving look fantastic but the sequential artist Damion Scott made his driving look to stilted.
I think the Penance Stare came from Ketch.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."One I legit didn't know that Robbie could actually phase through the car, lmao. It must've imprinted hard from one of the few Ghost Rider comics I skimmed through because I haven't actually kept up with the Robbie Reyes version and I'm not that clever.
Two part of what makes the car work for Robbie is that he's not a loner even relatively to the other Ghost Riders. His biggest thing is his relationship to his brother and of all the main Ghost Riders he's the one giving rides to the Avengers.

Right. Watching Black Panther with my bro. He's got beef with a plot point about Klaue.
He says that, considering he got information about the location of Wakanda and their vibranium horde (which would have been a well kept secret), he must have known he got that information from someone very high up.
He would have also been aware that Wakanda would be after him for what he did.
His argument is that Klaue should have been aware that Killmonger was part of the royal family (and even that he was the son of the man who provided him his information) based on that.
I'm saying it's more than possible for the information to have been passed to Klaue without much in the way of specifics (he might suspect who he's dealing with, but wouldn't have any way to confirm it was the brother of the king).
He notes that Klaue has never been fooled by anyone, so finds it hard to believe Eric pulled a fast one on him.
What do you guys think?
One Strip! One Strip!N'jobu was also a high-ranking intelligence officer. If anyone would be sure to tell Klaue as little as possible (and get his son out of dodge) it would be him.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Well, time to leech off my sister’s Disney+ account. I haven’t watched Iron Man 3 or Captain Marvel.
Ladies, gentlemen, and all non-binary people of the thread, I ask: which one should I watch tomorrow?
(P.S No spoilers. I don’t want to be rude but I want to experience it with little prejudgment, expectations, or bias before I actually see it.)
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Either is fine. Iron Man 3 is more flawed, but also more interesting and gives your mind more things to chew on. Captain Marvel is very well-made and has a few well-done elements (specifically, the subject of gaslighting, and the story's big twist) but is also more heavily Bland Corporate Product and doesn't really excel at anything either unless you like the shipping aspect.

Iron Man 3 suffers from Executive Meddling and has a really lame villain, but it does have some wonderful action setpieces. Good popcorn flick.
Captain Marvel is more straightforward and adds some good detail to the MCU's history, but it's not the most exciting film to watch, and feels like a Phase 1 origin movie inserted into Phase 3.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! If you're a fan of the Iron Man comics, 3 will likely infuriate you, especially if you're familiar with the Extremis storyline, since they take so many stupid liberties with it, none the least of which being making the Big Bad someone who died in the comic's backstory instead of the actual villains. That and attempting to brush of Iron Man's highly anticipated Arch-Enemy as not existing, but everyone knows that bit. And they retconned it away later anyway. I'd say it's the only MCU (film) installment that I consider outright bad.
Captain Marvel isn't the best MCU film, but it's still a good movie overall and definitely not as bad as certain people attempt to make it out to be.

Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonI prefer Captain Marvel but that's more a personal preference for me since I really didn't like Iron Man 3. I think CM is more consistent overall, while IM 3 might have higher highs and much lower lows.

When we're done, there won't be anything left.Iron Man 3 is watchable and entertaining, but also really really messy. Possibly the messiest in the series. Certainly not Shane Black's worst sci-fi romp.
Captain Marvel is more of a solid solo origin tale, not like, great but it's a nice watch and has plenty of neat touches with the cast and Carol's backstory. The Skrulls are a really good addition.

Guardians 3 may be the end of Drax
Sounds like Bautista is feeling to hang up the red markings.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Drax has always been my pick for "most likely to permanently die" of the Guardians, so that make sense. Granted, I thought he would die fighting Thanos, but Infinity and Endgame were rather light on emotional investment for any Guardians not makes Gamora, Nebula and to a lesser extent Rocket and Star-Lord.

It’s the visuals.
As said cars are too clunky and weighty. They take too much space, I mean what the Hell does a Rider need with extra seats?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
