Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Indeed. He actually made a good contrast to Hulk in terms of personality
Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglIt's a shame because Korg did get a pretty funny one, but Miek's... There, I guess
Prettiest Meta Knight Gijinka, nglBeing The Unintelligible did not help either.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.“A sorcerer is a wizard without a hat” -Bucky has look like feather meme guy- hah
Forever liveblogging the AvengersIf the former, the chance to use the Blip has pretty much gone, but we do have the Eternals who could feasibly cause it. If the latter then arguably Thanos' attack could be what convinced MCU!Xavier that a team of mutant heroes would be a good idea.
I mean there is the possibility there could be both at once. the blip is sued as a means to add the X gene and the mutants would then not be involved with Thanos because they either dodn't want to be heroes or are laying low to get a grasp on their powers and avoid a Westville scenario that would surely out them.
The X-Men often have a bit that there were always mutants but the nuclear developments of the 20th century shot their numbers upwards to a radical extent (hence the classic "Children of the Atom" moniker). You could use that in the MCU with The Snap/Blip (and general use of the Infinity Stones on earth) being the inciting incidents for their sharp increase in numbers.
It even adds up because at least one Infinity Stone saw extensive use in WWII (the Space Stone with Red Skull), roughly matching up the "age of the atom" gimmick and you could even extrapolate that logic to the mutants in general given that Infinity Stones have been used on Earth since ancient times with Odin (with the very same Space Stone) and possibly the Dark Elves (Reality Stone) during their protracted war with Asgard so that could be the origin of ancient mutants.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."@Tucker: Oh don't be ridiculous, Tri!
Thanos is not a wizard or a sorcerer, he's an alien! Didn't you pay attention to what Sam said?
Offscreen Mordo stole Falcon's taxi and he's still holding a grudge
Forever liveblogging the AvengersLoki is explicitly a magic-user in this, so it presumably refers to him. He's just a god wizard.

Agatha All Along also displays abilities that overlap with that sort of thing
