Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

They’ve all but confirmed that he’ll be in the next “Spiderverse”.

I can only imagine how a live action Leopardon would look on an MCU budget. It’d make up for the Gundam movie being in Development Hell.
I was just thinking that a cool thing to do for a more comics accurate AIM would be to have them want to try to use SCIENCE! to replicate the Stones now that they're gone, but - obviously - fail in spectacular ways.
So, like, MODOK could be the result of their initial failed attempt to replicate the Mind Stone. They could create Living Laser in a failed attempt to replicate the space stone. Etc.

Except the mohawkeye. I'm not letting up on this one.
If they were to carry over just one X-Man casting to the MCU (besides Reynolds and Peters[citation needed] , who'd you want to keep?
ETA: Mine is Anya Taylor-Joy as Magik. I have no plans to see New Mutants but she just has a great aura.

I'll second Dafne Keene as X-23. I would have liked to see E. Page as Kitty Pryde again too, but I'm not sure it would be possible now.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.So I was too late for the Punisher discussion, but I can think of an easy way to rework Frank Castle.
Let the Punisher's targets be corrupt cops, Nazis/white supremacists, Corrupt Corporate Executive-types and white-collared criminals too powerful for the law to touch.

The first season of the Netflix show did something similar by having him run up against a military run conspiracy/PMC organization.
So it wasn't so much "ex-soldier guns down gang bangers" as "ex-soldier fights other (corrupt) soldiers". Though the Punisher at his essence does not really discriminate - his mission statement is killing criminals. All criminals.
Edit:
d. And while it works for a season of stories etc would it be feasible in the long running story of comic books? The fact he goes after different groups is what keeps him relevant.

"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."
