Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

On Punisher: I think my favorite Punisher story, at least conceptually, was in the Ultimate comics. Where other heroes were following were hunting a pair of serial killers and it turned out ot was the Punisher, but he had the Ghost Rider on his tail the whole time. Or something like that. Its been a few years.

The New Mutants themselves need their own shower after that whimper of a Fo X-Men finale. Good thing the X-Men basically have their own hero universe to draw things from.

Didn't stop Marvel from doing a purge leaving only Kamala, Lunella and maybe one or two more of those.

Wake me up at your own risk.Yeah. It's pretty much agreed they're gonna distance Kamala from the Inhumans (which is easy to do since she's never been particularly tied to them).
In fact, the possibility that they'll pull a reverse Scarlett Witch and make her a mutant is on the table.
Honestly, I'm still annoyed that Marvel did the Royal Family so dirty. There probably plenty of ways to tell good stories with them, but Executive Meddling has made them radioactive because they still don't understand that there's just some things you can't do to characters.
It's screwed the New Warriors, it's screwed Wanda, it's screwed Tony and Carol (aka Civil War Asshole 1 and Civil War Asshole 2) and it may or may not have screwed Cap (the entire Nazi thing did him no favours in universe or out).
And yet, in many cases they double down on these things. I don't get why.
One Strip! One Strip!Tony, Carol, Steve and Wanda at least have the MCU to fall back on. The New Warriors never truly recovered from being the catalyst of Civil War and there lack of presence in other media also means Marvel has less reason to invest in them. Say what you will about how DC handles the Titans in the comics, but they at least have the popular t.v. shows to fall back on.
Pretty sure that's how he's introduced. More or less.
Not so sure about that, especially the mutant part.
And the Infinity Stones aren't around anymore.
I expect Kree shenanigans, which wouldn't be far from the source since they more or less created the Inhumans.

The other possible way for mutants/Inhumans/superpowered types to start proliferating would be through the Eternals. They could easily enough be portrayed as doing something (deliberately or otherwise) that kickstarts some evolutionary shenanigans.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Tom Holland Says Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield Are Not in Spider-Man 3
Guess we can draw a line under that one now that we've got a hard no.
"Yup. That tasted purple."He could be lying. You never know
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I believe that Tom Holland would immediately and accidentally leak it if it were true
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHe quirkily left an entire script on the bus once which marvel had to scramble to retrieve
Or however the story went

Forever liveblogging the Avengers

Inhumans won't be back until they can wash off the stink of trying to make them the new mutants, as opposed to the actual New Mutants.
And even then, Marvel may have torpedoed the entire franchise 100%, with that damned show being the final nail in the coffin. But only time will tell I suppose.
