Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Dracula IIRC is showing up in Moon Knight, where he will presumably owe the titular character money.
You know, there's a large part of me that hopes that Meme gets referenced...only for Dracula to cut him off by punching him in the face before he can finish and then beating his ass 13 ways from Sunday.
Not 12. But 13. That's how sick Dracula is of that meme, and it doesn't even exist in universe.
One Strip! One Strip! On the Blade reboot itself, given the writer's past reference, I would be down for having the music by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross.
Those guys know their neo-noir...
...and their fighting pieces.
Funnigly enough JLA/Avengers lampshaded that.
- When both teams are swapped in the universe of the other, the Justice League see first hand how the denizens hate, bully, and smear their heroes. Superman was appalled by all this, not because the people are just that dickish, but because he thinks the Avengers are not doing enough to help the people. In contrast, the Avengers see how much positive attention and praises the heroes of that world get. Captain America comes to the conclusion that the JLA are power-hungry tyrants that are subjecting citizens and demanding worship. While both have the wrong idea about the other, it paints the convincing picture of how idealized the DC Universe is compared to the Marvel Universe when it comes to how people react to superheroes.
I think that even if they just look at America - which they wouldn't need to - the past few years can give them a lot of fuel for modern take on a new minority facing prejudice.
They could do a ton with the concept of "forced diversity" alone. Or do stuff like the X-Men being dubbed a terrorist organization by prejudiced parts of the populace.
In-universe, the post-Thanos world could be a great story catalyst for the prejudice as well, with the idea that after Thanos wiped out half the planet people are hateful towards anything abnormal (unless it's the Avengers).

It’s just going to be weird to have the mutants, which were always the face of Marvel, be the new kids. I keep joking someone is going to call their mutant power a Quirk.
Always the face of marvel my ass
The first run went into reruns because it sold like crap
Forever liveblogging the AvengersMovie-wise though, mutants were the face of Marvel for a while. They have now been largely eclipsed by the MCU, but they were there first, and the only well-known onscreen Marvel for a while.
Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.Mutants (or perhaps more specifically, Wolverine) were what kept Marvel afloat during the dark days of the 90's when the company nearly went under (and the reason why they sold their film rights to a bunch of companies) so they have that notch under their belt.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Somebody just linked this to me
https://www.fortressofsolitude.co.za/jon-bernthal-to-return-as-punisher/
I mean, I would be thrilled to see Bernthal return, but I just don't see it. Marvel-Disney making R-Rated Content? Yeah, not in this lifetime.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI can see at best a "light r" like the original Blade was (where it was really just a regular superhero fare but with blood and some swearing).
Punisher aside from being very hard R has a problem that the character itself is a can of worms given the fact he lends itself easily to fascist propaganda (and his skull in particular became a recurring fascist symbol). Disney would likely not step into that landmine even if you paid them to.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."

So who are we getting as Blade's opponent(s) in that film. Dracula or Deacon Frost ?
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
