Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Now I'm remembering that "Real World: Superheroes" sketch from Robot Chicken and how Sam complained about how his outfit sucked. This was years before he ever made it into the MCU, but I just find it funny how Mackie himself voiced issues over the films attempts at less "comic book" design for his costume.
I think his movie costumes were based on Ultimate Falcon, since the Ultimate universe could be pretty joyless in the costuming department over on the Serious Superheroes Military Ultimates side of things.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI mean, Walker's really just an Anti-Hero. He'll definitely fight Falcon (and probably win the first time) but he's ultimately a good guy and will most likely be used that way.
I've been assuming from the start that he's either the Big Bad or The Dragon.
I mean, as an antagonist he's basically The Dragon to the Big Bad that is the United States government, yeah.
In the original comic storyline, Walker eventually cracked from the pressure of being Captain America (as well as his parents being murdered) and went insane, leading to Steve having to take him down in a final fight and then reclaiming the mantle. I'm strongly guessing that'll be the case here, just with Sam being the one who stops him and takes the shield.

It's magenta.
