Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

Now I'm imagining a three-way fight between Comics Ultron, MCU Ultron, and The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes Ultron.
Trope Editor (he/him)Ugh. I really need to get on that WandaVision horse...
Anyway, yet another Spider-Man 3 set photo
has emerged.
It's a truck reading F.E.A.S.T.. For the uninitiated, F.E.A.S.T. is the cover organization of Martin Li, aka Mister Negative. It was established in 2004 in the comics but came back to prominence thanks to the Spider-Man game for PS4.
Mind you, it's probably an Easter egg and nothing more. Maybe.

If they're doing the Sinister Six, they might be doing the thing the PS 4 game did where they put Mr. Negative on the team.
Talking about Peter, my brother made an interesting remark when we rewatched Endgame recently: for a highschooler who found himself travelling to a different planet, fighting a physical god, dying and coming back to life, and above all fighting in the middle of a full-out war that made WW1 look like a playground fight, he sure does not show any sign of PTSD. Tony was much more affected after simply pushing a missile through a wormhole (yes, I know, he's Tony but still...)
I know the Doylist explanation is that it would have made Far From Home a far grimmer film, but some lip service about that could have been interesting.

Whatever your favourite work is, there is a Vocal Minority that considers it the Worst. Whatever. Ever!.It could be that so much happening means it simply hasn't sunk in properly. Like, he hasn't processed it enough to get traumatized as things keep happening and happening. If he ever stopped long enough to think about what is happening to him, BAM! PTSD right there.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."I Mean Talos/Fury (the head of Shield) can vouch for Peter being innocent. I don't think he'll Be brought to trial or anything. It's more the public will probably be torn on that. Fuelling conspiracy theories.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
Having the head of a shadowy organisation that was recently revealed as being infiltrated by HYDRA vouch for him may not be the best PR move, though.
If he's anything like comics Peter, he'll just unload any new trauma onto his already bloated and overtaxed guilt complex.
Maybe, but whether the public believes it and whether Fury's input absolves him legally are two different things.
Having the actual law enforcement involved in the situation say "that's not what happened, this is what happened" would make it very difficult for him to get charged for anything.
Like slimcoder said, the most likely result is that Peter faces no legal repercussions whatsoever, but takes a massive hit to his reputation, putting us in the same status quo as comics Spidey.

That reminds me of Marvels where Marvels Phil learned that “wanted for questioning” literally just meant that the cops wanted to question Spider-Man about George Stacy’s death and that he wasn’t being blamed or a suspect
They just needed his statement because he was one of the only people who saw all of what happened
Forever liveblogging the AvengersHad to double check and I remembered FFH had Peter as Spider-Man appearing in a charity thing with banners.
It's not explicitly referred to as F.E.A.S.T. (and there's no page for it on the Marvel Wiki, but I guess it's like how S.W.O.R.D. was seen in FFH, but not really called that.
So let's split the difference and call it a case of "heavily implied."
FFH treats the snapppening as a complete joke. One of Peter's teacher was left by his wife pretending to be snapped, and that is treated as a joke.
Tbf that was hilarious
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Peter just being suspected of ever being Spider-Man should make him completely inefficient. Logically he'd be hounded, stalked and watched over at all times by someone or another, including villains. I can't fathom a moment where he'd be able to sneak out anymore to suit up without confirming the suspicions instantly.

MCU Ultron wouldn't put up much of a fight, honestly.
