Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

The big one is Black Widow remaining in theaters. WB and HBO Max are now on an island by themselves.

I figured they'd probably adapt the F4 before tackling any other of the Fox properties, especially the X-Men. The X-Men have a gigantic franchise with several great movies, even with the flops. The F4, on the other hand, never rose above mediocrity, and should get a chance to finally have their well-deserved spotlight.
if they race lift anyone in FF I dont want to be johnny because is the safe option: the handsome, comic relief(in the snark sense), with trouble is very typical for a black chararter.
But a black reed richards? NOW that would mean something.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Reed isn’t the same kind of scientist personality wise as Tony. Reed feels more like he’s For Science! in that silver age bravado sort of way. When Reed says it’s not about the money, it’s about the science, he means it Dammit!

I know it's out of respect and everything, but it feels like a waste to just completely abandon the character of T'Challa like this. Put anyone you want to in the suit, but T'Challa is the Black Panther of the Marvel Universe, and there's still so much more to be done with him. I respect their decision and everything, but I'm still a bit disappointed there.

x4 I think the verbiage was "we'll explore non-T'Challa characters introduced in Black Panther" but they're still calling it Black Panther 2. Presumably, either Shuri (provided her actress' anti-vax leanings are forgiven/forgotten) or another character takes up the mantle. In any case, the release date was sometime in 2022 so I assume they already have a rough idea of what the story should be.

EDIT:
is also an option
