Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I'm not sure how to feel about Molina returning as Doc Ock. Bear in mind, I liked him a lot in Spider-Man 2 (and one of my favorite Halloween costumes I wore in middle school was of the doctor). But I wouldn't call him the only actor who could embody the role the way J.K. Simmons did for Jameson, especially since Spider-Verse showed a refreshing new take on the character. I was alright with Fox returning as Electro since I felt his character didn't really get a fair shake in TASM 2, but Molina as Ock definitely got his due so I'm not sure what new territory there is to tread with his version.
Her normal costume has these weird openings on her hips.

It started as a passing homage to Diana Rigg
of The Avengers (1960s) that then got out of control and raised too many questions and issues for cosplayers.

Kate explained once she wears the hip holes so she doesn’t have to stuff files into her outfit
See, they’d just fall out. It’s her greatest scheme
Forever liveblogging the AvengersAccording yo Murphy's Multiverse, Charlie Cox is set to reprise his role as Daredevil in Spider-Man 3
.
I desperately want this to be true but this is also getting out of hand... However comicbook.com says the Murphy is often accurate. Right now I'm thinking if they're true the film is getting too stuffed, and if they're not true: "I don't like being jerked around..."

You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midI want this to be true, but I'm going to take this with a grain of salt.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI mean, it's not like I can't see it.
Daredevil and Spider-Man have a tendency to be bros for the most part. They're urban-level heroes, they share an enemy with the Kingpin, Daredevil helped Spidey when the latter went blind one time. Heck, even one of Peter's alternate dimensional selves, Peni (the comic one, not the movie one), is friends with the Daredevil of her dimension.
I would like for it to happen, but I'm trying not to hold my breath in case this one's just a dud.
Besides, if it does happen, should we expect any further nods to the Netflix series beyond the casting?

Hence why I was far more excited about this than Doc-Ock. As much as I'd love one of Peter's classic Arch-Enemies, we've already seen that (just not in the MCU). But to have him team up with one of his street level bros? That's uncharted territory.

I really want to believe this one will be a cool Spidey / Daredevil cross. Like, this is the first unsubstantiated rumor I really want to believe. But I think the big thing going against it is that the script for this has to have been written back when Marvel didn't have access to the characters, which means they wouldn't have been allowed to even plan it in pre-production I don't think.

Or maybe they approached it similarly to when they weren't sure they could snag Spider-Man for Captain America: Civil War and in case they couldn't secure Daredevil here, they had a plan B?
I really don't know. I just want Disney and Marvel to do their own version of DC's FanDome already...

Supposedly
Disney will announce new Marvel projects, among others, for investor day tomorrow, but I'm not sure what they could announce that we don't already know about. Maybe a new trailer for Falcon and Winter Soldier?

Let's face it, these rumors have been circulating around for a year and half now, ever since Far from Home was released.
What makes me skeptical is this bit from the article:
- Charlie Cox, star of the beloved Netflix show, is set to make his grand debut in the MCU in the third Spider-Man film in a deal that has been set in stone for several months now.
From what I understand as someone following the #SaveDaredevil campaign on Twitter, Marvel weren't allowed to even talk about using Cox as Daredevil until the two years since the show's cancellation were up. And this says "a deal was struck months ago"?
Unless Netflix made an official decision behind the scenes to cancel the show months prior to the release of Daredevil season 3, the times don't add up. It could have been that Netflix made the decision to cancel the shows in July 2018, right around the time that Luke Cage season 2 aired, Jessica Jones season 3 started filming and The Punisher season 2 was finishing filming, but held off on the announcements until after the shows were out, which would certainly line up with some of their other behavior regarding how they marketed Iron Fist season 2 and Daredevil season 3, but at the same time, my understanding was that the moratorium began from the day of the official cancellation announcement.
I also ask how this Murphy character has several trusted sources stating this, but not even one source for the more credible sites told them this.

Okey Dokey!

I’d want a Clone Saga movie if only to introduce Kaine & give him his adventures in Texas.
