Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! This pinned post is here to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules
still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread
. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed without spoiler tagging for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.
If you're posting tagged spoilers, make sure that the film or series is clearly identified outside the spoiler tagging. People need to know what will be spoiled before they choose to read the post.

I actually don't mind this. Doctor Octopus is my favorite Spider-Man, and Molina did him perfectly. I'm still not buying this being a multiverse.
I would also like to note that I don't get the complaints that Doctor Strange being there. I mean isn't part of the deal that one big name MCU characters has to show up for a little bit. Sony's idea if I remember correctly. Or am I misremembering?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThough we're five down for a sinister six. So we just need someone for rhino or kraven to complete the set.
Any ideas for actors ?

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I am wondering. Who everyone would get to play Kraven? I can't think of anyone myself, but I haven't put much thought into it either.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadNo Fake Russian please.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianPeter Stormare and Kevin Durand were ideas that floated by my head, but Stormare is pushing 70, which is a problem. I've also seen Scott Adkins and Javier Bardem pushed as suggestions and I dig Bardem.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Where is my Russian in a Rhino tank? :V

Just Makima.

I'm not sure they would adapt Superior Spider-Man in live-action movies quite yet...
I assure you, I'm perfectly trustable personThis whole multiverse thing doesn't have much appeal to me at face value, but I'll presumably see the movie when it comes out.
My pick for Kraven is Pedro Pascal. Although he has been cast in some heroic roles (counting his Game of Thrones and Mandalorian characters here), he has a bit of a typecast for playing gentlemanly, cultured types who are also total psychos. Which I think is about the right approach to Kraven.
I mean Kraven is based on General Zaroff (although he's generally more sympathetic). He should be the type of person that can both discuss opera and hunt other people with a spear.

Trope Editor (he/him)This sounds like satire, but...

Like creepy stories? Check out my book!Well. I don't know how to feel. I am actually somewhat exited, but cautious. I don't think this necessarily a good or bad sign. I am going to hold off on judging until I see the movie.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadAs someone who was introduced to superheroes by the Raimi Spider-Man films, the thought of a multiverse crossover film makes me very happy.
But. How would that work with Spider-Man 2's Doc Ock? He wasn't active for that long and he died at the end. I think it simply being a JJJ situation is more likely.
I think this could work great, regardless of whether or not it's a multiverse. Alfred Molina made a great Doc Ock.

You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the mid

It’s just that the media recognizes that the theory is hyping everyone up and is thus spinning it that way, with all the fake news reports in between not helping.
Exactly. They've already started it by bringing back J. K. Simmons because who else could be JJJ as well as him?
For all we know, MCU!Doc Ock could have basically the backstory from his Spectacular counterpart.
